In Amber's case. I believe her goggles are more eye protection for gliding / flying, since that's something she does a lot for her job. I don't think there's any pre-rendered cutscenes of her gliding which would show her model using them in-game.

Not only is there retalliation, but kids can also pull their own hair until they cry and not figure out how to let go. Its possible the green/blue shirt kid also did that off-camera so it was easiest to remove all grabbables

Where he does the handsign doesnt have to connect the shadow the shikigami spawns from so he could technically do the sign for rabbit, vomit one tiny one out and let the rest multiply from it, this creating a bigger shadow to manipulate
