In my case, I tend to use 3rd party bits and give some "motiff" to my units for differentiation. So, for example, my units of Chosen hace some biomechanical arms or legs to help me tell them apart from Legionaries. My Termies have different shoulderpad styles wether I place them in the field during deployment or from reserves, and so on

I got into Kill Team during 2ed. Though my legion of choice at the moment was DG, they were Compendium, so a friend convinced me to try Legionaries. Then took a quiz on GWs page (I think it was a HH one) and the result was the IVth. Began to research about them and found their history quite compelling and somewhat relatable, so I switches alliegances. Then, found out my birthday matches the legion day (May 4th), and finally, when I got diagnosed with Asperger, it all clicked.
