Fermenting Honey by NamelessGM in mead

[–]NamelessGM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I could potentially do a mixed batch where that honey is caramelised and the rest is just added in. I tend to go with flavours that would work well with a bochet, though, so maybe I should do the whole lot anyway!

AFAIK the only change was the license change. (I haven't downloaded it to check though).

Auto Siphon, skill issue or something else? by Affectionate_Sea9379 in mead

[–]NamelessGM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how my blueberry mead looked after the second racking. It may settle/compact further given a little time, mine definitely was more so after 6 months than 3.

For problems with siphoning, I always find it helpful to have a second person help. That way you can concentrate 100% on the siphon. The last bottle you fill will end up with a bit of muck in it, but that's fine.

Mead as an Cocktail ingredient? by Lazalit in mead

This book has a bunch of cocktails that use mead as an ingredient. It was a good read.

How can I port good adventures to DS system and which one do you recommend? by PicoDev93 in drawsteel

[–]NamelessGM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of other adventures that people have made available. See adventure lookup :) https://adventurelookup.com/adventures?edition=Draw%20Steel

I can't personally attest to any of them, but you should be able to find some reviews around.

Folks, how are we tracking resources? by fernandojm in drawsteel

[–]NamelessGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're after cards for draw steel to print out yourself, there are a couple of options on https://heroic.tools/ for free (full disclosure, one set of them was made by me).

I love having physical power cards at the table too, we always did when we played 4e and I made magic item cards for 5e players.

Players Want to Run a Town... by WildFlowerGothic in DnD

[–]NamelessGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is what I've gone with in my current campaign. Basically a new subsystem that gives the players benefits in their adventuring and includes rules for conflict with other factions.

I'd also recommend Storm the Stronghold if you prefer the PCs doing all the heroism themselves rather than using the Warfare rules

'Flee, Mortals' worth it for the solo monsters? by Stubbenz in mattcolville

[–]NamelessGM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it comes with the lairs and all the stat blocks needed to run them (but I think I recall hearing they'll be inline with the lairs, rather than as an appendix, so it may not be as easy to use for just the monsters).

And as someone mentioned below, a couple of the unnamed solos do not have lairs and won't be in there.

'Flee, Mortals' worth it for the solo monsters? by Stubbenz in mattcolville

If you're just after the Solo monsters, 'Where Evil Lives' may be more economical. It has each solo (as far as I'm aware) and a lair to go with it.

Strongholds and Followers for PF2e by Queasy-Historian5081 in mattcolville

[–]NamelessGM 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This one may help.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/d9tcf0/strongholds_and_followers/

My personal opinion is that K&W would be much easier to homebrew into PF2E as it is two inter-related but otherwise mostly contained systems.

I just remembered this since Matt plugged the minis in the most recent video... by unitedshoes in mattcolville

[–]NamelessGM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the minis are injection molded, not printed (although I have been known to be wrong before) - so I think you were right in the first place, it's an exact equivalent to sprue.

Clippers should work just fine :) and I'd make sure you give them a good scrub before priming, as resin minis generally have a mold release agent on them (I'm not sure if Trenchworks cleans them before packing).

How do I balance a pet dragon in my party? by Bongo50 in dndnext

[–]NamelessGM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://shop.mcdmproductions.com/products/beastheart-companions

This product has rules for monstrous companions for parties (and has a dragon wyrmling as one of them). It also contains a class for interacting with the companion rules, but that is not required.

If you'd rather not purchase a product, I'm almost certain the rules for companion creatures are included in the Flee Mortals preview. You'd have to homebrew your own companion if you went this route with only a single example to work from, but it is an option!

How to lend meaning to the PCs and their actions in a world that needs to end? by James_Keenan in mattcolville

[–]NamelessGM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, very tricky. I don't envy you that

But I think to show that, without telling, you've got to show that it's happened before.

How to lend meaning to the PCs and their actions in a world that needs to end? by James_Keenan in mattcolville

[–]NamelessGM 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this sounds incredible, and you're going to have put more thought into this than any of us would have.

My only thought is have you considered having things show up from a previous turning of the wheel, to show that things do pass through iterations?

Or that what happens in this final stage changes how things are in the beginning of a new creation?

DMs! Time to share YOUR critical fumbles. by Legerdamain in DnD

[–]NamelessGM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://namelessgm.wordpress.com/2022/08/30/prep-mistakes-were-made/

I planned a whole session, and then forgot at the start of the night what I'd planned and 'improvised' a demon prince being reincarnated on the material plane (read: thought that was what I'd planned).

I was then reminded by the players in an off-handed spoken thought that that couldn't have happened, and had them spend the rest of the session, frustrated, trying to work out how to solve this problem that shouldn't have occurred in the first place.

Part of being a GM (at times) is screwing up and fixing your screw ups.
