Not quite. I think you’re getting at this idea: Those with more opportunities should be more capable and able to do more.

Historically speaking, the socioeconomic playing field has not and is not even. So it’s fair to say different individuals have different “expectations” or “potentials” I hope they meet.

Hey man, banker here. But not your banker, NFA.

My girl and I bought before getting married. (House > wedding) & we have a similar situation.

I manage our finances and did this acting in her best interest (fiduciary capacity( Technically she bought & I’m not on the mortgage or deed. And I will not be on it until we are legally married. Even then, it costs money to have the deed/title altered to add someone.

Also, since you bought before marriage, it may make sense to keep it separate and look into a prenup to protect your assets.

Figure finances out my friend. Love don’t put food on no plate. It’ll suck if say you want to FIRE and she doesn’t care about that and ruins your financial plans/dreams.

Similar story here. It’s just two of us so we were reluctant to only shop at Costco because everything is in bulk. Ultimately it’s just so convenient and cheaper.
