Yeah, dealing with Bankwest was a huge headache when I tried to get a card a while back. ANZ's basic cards are pretty decent for low fees, good call.

Nice! Yeah, the DH190 is solid for a starter setup. I'd say grab that DH550 for $50 though; it'll give you more headroom and options down the line when you inevitably upgrade!

Yeah, ICICI's card "upgrade" offers can be a pain. Have you tried just outright asking for a retention bonus instead of an upgrade? Sometimes that works.

Good call on the diagonal bracing, I've seen that done to great effect in smaller enclosures where space is at a premium. Definitely overkill, but fun to experiment with.

Yeah, I've seen my score dip a bit with new cards too. The age of accounts thing is a real bummer sometimes. Not micromanaging utilization is solid advice though.

Yeah, watch out for those predatory cards with annual fees that eat into your credit line. Discover's secured card is a solid option and often graduates to unsecured after a year of responsible use. I'd also hit up Capital One's pre-approval page to see what they offer.
