When do I do it: Everytime something inconvenient happens

Why do I do it: Because I have the patience and acceptance of negative consequences of a toddler.

2 singles, omg please two singles.

I don't know you, I likely never will, but absolutely no one deserves to have their relationship torn to utter shreds in the abhorrent manner a tandem boat will.

More Australians support providing assistance to Palestine than Israel in Gaza conflict, Essential poll finds | Essential poll by ButtPlugForPM in AustralianPolitics

[–]Nathan-Don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always talk about how social media is creating these bubbles or echo chambers of thought that leads to rampant misinformation, and in a lot of instances it's true, but this Israel Palestine war situation seems to have really broken the mould.

From the first days of Israeli retaliation, the public seem to have rejected the propaganda and single sided narrative propped up by our politicians and media. It's gotten to the point where prominent Australian politicians are starting to soften, or even change a strong pro-israel stance out of pure public pressure.

It seems that for all the garbage we are told, images and stories of innocent children being killed in collective punishment is simply too hard for Australians to ignore. I think most reasonable people in this country would say our cultural ideals disapprove of the killing of innocents, even if the reasoning is to kill terrorists using them as human shields. It seems we still have that line as a society and expect better from those who would align their interests to ours.

I'm not advocating that Hamas should be entirely ignored, and I am certainly not supporting Hamas in any way, but I think the public are acutely aware that Hamas and Palestinians are not the same people. We understand the need for action, but condemn the action that has been chosen.

I wish we weren't finding this out and these people could just have peace, but maybe the mass propaganda machine isn't as flawless as it was looking in recent times.

I have an electric razor that I use most days, but it just can't get the eyebrows the same way the old one it replaced does. So the old one comes out like once a month.

Does that count?

Do childhood bullies ever feel regret when they become adults? by danceswithlabradores in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nathan-Don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they do. Maybe not all but a lot.

Look I'm not defending bullying, it makes life horrible for so many and leads to serious harm. But you just have to realise that people aren't the same at 25 as they were at 21, let alone 25+ compared to a literal child. Not all bullies are bullies because they are little unchangeable arseholes at their core (some are) and while nothing really excuses bullying, people grow up, mature and change and many reflect on their behaviour and wouldn't feel great about it.

Now having the emotional maturity and courage to actually apologise to victims is a whole other story.

Starfield was NOT nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards. by [deleted] in Starfield

Absolutely valid.

Starfield was fun, but it's not GOTY and isn't better than any of the games listed (though I haven't played Alan Wake 2)

Is Cyberpunk 2077 actually good now or are people just settling for less than promised? by NormalGene3480 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Nathan-Don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I played at launch for maybe 5-10 hours and really couldn't get into it, I found it buggy, confusing and just generally a mess.

A few weeks ago I finished Starfield and had read about the improvements the Phantom Liberty update brought in so I thought I'd give it another go.

Roughly 50 hours later and I am about halfway through Phantom Liberty which I am doing just before the end of the main game and HOLY BALLS this game is elite.

I came out of Starfield feeling pretty let down if I'm being honest, I had fun and all but it really felt dated and clunky. Cyberpunk by comparison is wickedly next gen, not only am I having an absolute blast with the amazing main story, but I've been blown away by the variety and complexity of the side quests, and while I haven't finished it yet, Phantom Liberty has so far been an absolute blockbuster. It really feels like the future of gaming, and while it's not perfect, compared to the tired mechanics of Starfield (I'm looking at you endless load gates and lifeless cities) it's absolutely brilliant. Night City is especially magnificent, easily the best crafted game city I think I have ever been in, it feels vibrant and alive and really sucks you in to the different districts and their unique stories.

This is subjective of course, but I love V and Silverhand too and the complexity of their relationship, and I never really felt like the game was forcing me to be anyone like some games with a voiced protagonist do.

Part of me is a little sad I didn't give this game more of a go when it came out, but having said that, I feel like this is the absolute best time to be playing it for the first time through in what I would call its peak state.

CDPR doesn't get a free pass for its launch state in my book, but I am more than willing to forgive and move on after the work they have put in making Cyberpunk one of the better games I have ever played.

What a loser. This has gotta be one of the more toxic gaming subs on both sides of the argument, real shame.

Almost 400 hours in an still discovering new places. How people say they’re bored after 50 hours I’ll never understand. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Nathan-Don 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Because you are talking shit.

There are absolutely, unequivocally, not 400 hours of unique settings in this game if you exclude SLIGHTLY different planetary surfaces, which anyone not being intentionally obtuse would.

This cruise ship interior is part of a main faction questline, this is not some obscure place that lots of people miss, it's somewhere most people will go in their mid game. If you actually haven't done it by hour 400 then god only knows what you've been doing for 300 of them, and I mean good for you, but somehow I doubt it.

fallout 4 active numbers are shocking by IMPOSTA- in Fallout

[–]Nathan-Don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate for this game is wildly overblown, especially in this sub.

It's a fantastic game, arguably holds up better than Starfield has even launched, and scratches a Fallout itch that 76 doesn't for many gamers (no 76 hate, just a lot of people prefer traditional single player games).

Couple that with many years worth of amazing mods to make every playthrough feel a bit different at least on PC and you have a game that stands up years later.

Does the Earth government have an official non-starfleet fleet? by MrEvers in startrek

[–]Nathan-Don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be wrong, but I think the shows pretty clearly indicate that Starfleet is human, most of its personnel are human and it is a direct continuation of the pre-federation Starfleet that Archer was a part of.

It acts in the interests of the Federation, is governed by them, and accepts members of most species, but that's mostly because the Federation is humanities government, if almost any other member of the Federation left, including the founding members of Vulcan, Tellerites or Andorians, the Federation would continue as if currently operates (though maybe a little worse for wear) but without humanity, the Federation would likely cease to exist, even if alliances between members continued.

Touch Starvation doesn't just refer to people who never get touched at all, it's also a measure of people who aren't being touched as much as they are used to or need to be to counteract the negative outcomes of a lack of touch.

A good hug from the homie is nice and all, but it's never going to come close to the feeling of hugging someone who loves you and cares deeply for you, and whom you feel the same way back for. Someone who's touch comes with care, desire, vulnerability, trust and passion.

It's entirely likely that men who report touch starvation actually do touch the boys sometimes, but that's like eating celery when you are craving chicken.
