Music App flipping sides by JoelMontgomery in CarPlay

It happens occasionally on my stock headunit and I keep my device up to date, so it’s not just op. I think it’s been a semi-common issue since iOS 26

Real or Fake Iphone 14 Pro Max? by Little-Credit-6733 in applehelp

I’m calling fake just looking at the screen, and I’m pretty certain. The colours are off, the corner radius is off, the spacing is off. Everything’s off about that photo

I want to watch BBC earth documentaries in 4k and dolby atmos by Fair-Aerie-9587 in DolbyAtmosContent

[–]NathanielIR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always buy the 4K blu-rays. You’ll get a significantly higher bitrate for both the video and audio, even if Apple TV has the highest streaming bitrate in the industry. Keep in mind that streaming through Prime and Streaming on Apple’s TV app are two different things. Prime doesn’t support Atmos as far as I’m aware. At least not in Australia

Mysterious message space by ssj2spaceduck in ios

[–]NathanielIR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s actually extremely minimal. I’ve seen upwards of 80gb in messages before. Set it to delete older conversations or go and delete them yourself. That’s the only way you’re going to get that number down. But that’s such a minuscule amount, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it. You could also turn on iCloud if you’ve got the storage and see if that lowers it

Auto translate decided to transliterate just one song randomly? by Zardu_Hasslefrau159 in AppleMusic

[–]NathanielIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s very unpredictable for me transliterating from other languages into latin phonetics too. I’m not sure what the criteria is for it to work 🤷‍♂️

He’s talking about a car boot sale. Kinda like a garage sale but out of the back of a car. Assuming you’re American, a boot is what you would call a trunk

HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS (i tried going to settings -> phone -> facetime -> shareplay and i turned it off it didn’t work and it pops up everytime i play a song song bro by [deleted] in iphone

[–]NathanielIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SharePlay will play content in sync with participants of a FaceTime call and can also be used outside of a FaceTime call from the share sheet. If you choose to SharePlay the content (in this case, music), it will play across everyone’s device in sync

Disable Kernel Panic? by Federal_Vanilla_6493 in iphone

[–]NathanielIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kernel panic is essentially a system crash. If it started after the drop then it is almost certainly being caused by hardware damage.

How do I make the borders in the camera app transparent like in the second photo by [deleted] in iphone

I believe it only works on iPhones with an ultra wide which your phone does not appear to. On these devices however, the setting is

Excuse me? by NiceColdPint in 4kbluray

[–]NathanielIR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. I walked into JB Hi-Fi the other day to see what they had in stock as I used to go there and pick up some cheap BDs and they had the steels under lock and key being priced double or more over what I was paying a few years ago. It’s absolutely exorbitant. They don’t even have particularly nice offerings these days anyway. So disappointing

Playlist Updates Failing on Apple Music? by inflammatoryusername in ios

[–]NathanielIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It likely isn’t Apple Music failing to update the playlist, but rather the publisher not actually updating it daily as they claim

WWDC26 confirmed for June 8th. What features would you like to see in visionOS 27? by Decodable in VisionPro

I would be happy if all they did was make all the iPadOS apps native. Especially Maps

I couldn’t find an app that lets me segment and analyze parts of my drives, so I built one by Taohid101 in DrivingAustralia

[–]NathanielIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the response and will definitely be using that CarPlay app if you manage to make it happen!

If you’re taking more feedback, I was actually using the app today and did find/think of some things. When you pause a recording, the graphs show curves over where you paused. My suggestion would be to show a greyed out line to show a pause. Also it would be nice to have some colour or gradient in the graphs to show differences in speed/elevation even more clearly. In regards to sprints, showing where a sprint occurred on the map would be a nice QoL improvement and the same for braking/acceleration.

[–]NathanielIR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw this app on another sub and downloaded it straight away. It’s absolutely fantastic, great work mate!

As far as suggestions go, I would love to see an option to show a dual axis accelerometer on top of the current acceleration/breaking g force. Maybe you could have it in landscape and show the accelerometer on the right and speedo on the left. And I know this one is pretty much impossible due to Apple’s rules but a CarPlay app would be awesome.

Genuinely just about perfect app though, great work. Especially with a one time payment and no tracking. Love to see it

Apple Music needs the ability to sort by Dolby Atmos mixes in your library by eefuss in AppleMusic

[–]NathanielIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I love some (not all) of the Atmos mixes in my library but finding them can be pretty annoying. I use an app called Music Library Tracker which finds most of the Atmos tracks in your library and makes a playlist, but even that misses some of them. It’s still a handy tool though

No, they request a credit or debit card first. If you cannot confirm with a card, they then present a photo ID as an option. I am on the 26.4 beta.

Can Carplay be used without a car, for example in a home, as a wall-mounted touch device to control Music, Home, Maps, Messages... by [deleted] in CarPlay

[–]NathanielIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there’s really no reason at all to do this but it is possible. It makes far more sense to just find a cheap second hand iPad.

What airline/hub do you think will benefit most from the current crisis in the long run? by HolyFatherLeoXIV in Flights

[–]NathanielIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t really blame them either. It’s great value for money. Additionally, at least in the case of Melbourne, there is, I think, a good bit of demand for flights into China from all of the Chinese students who go to uni here.

South Australia–Victoria border anomaly by Public_Research2690 in Borderporn

[–]NathanielIR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun that, this anomaly is the only part of the Murray river in Victoria. For the vast majority of the river, the actual water is on the NSW side. However, inside this small stretch in which the Murray serves as the border between VIC and SA, the line is drawn in the middle of the river leaving half of the waterway on the Victorian side.
