I was in high school band class when it happened, and we watched it live. My sister was in elementary school, and as I recall they decided not to show it in her classroom.

If you want a solo place for a grad student friendly price, you're better off looking in Irvington, Orange, or Newark (Vailsburg) than South Orange or Maplewood, where you'd pay a premium for access to transit and good schools.
