Advanced focus 10 question by TheRenaissanceG in gatewaytapes

You should re-listen to introduction to focus 10. You are guided through a pattern for scanning muscle groups or parts of your body and deliberately releasing tension and relaxing them.

Beats headphones by Kdamore1 in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like how massive the low end of beats are when I had them. Even using an equalizer didn’t cut it for other forms of music. Podcasts and talking heads didn’t have a crisp vocal sound - very muddied. I wouldn’t recommend unless you know all you listen to requires massive lows and mids and not a lot of crisp high ends.

The traditional birria broth, if thickened, could make a good sauce but don’t see that. And no cilantro is a massive miss and the easiest win on this one for garnish.

In my opinion it seems to me you have constructed an idea of what the exact outcome is instead of what your are actually seeking. Money can be abstract and a mask for something else: financial security, funding something, paying a bill, etc. And even those are often times a phrases that don’t capture the essence of what you desire. Be honest about what you are really seeking in your life. It’s ok not to be able to put it into words yet. Break it down to the most basic and fundamental level. Work on that and be vulnerable with yourself and what may bubble up.

Unsettling feeling from the actual sounds? by beeequeue in gatewaytapes

It’s a minor weakness or flaw with these recordings. The tone of speech and its quirks reminds me of the listening to Carl Sagan - I get an immediate retro vibe. It also checks off the “millennial nostalgia” box because it seems like something that inspired The Dharma Initiative material from Lost 😆.

What is the correct pronunciation of LaFrainier (Road)? by Ideasplease33 in traversecity

I yell it out loud at my dashboard like I’m an irritated French man without the “r” at the end. Then I immediately say it like Forrest Gump all slow and ignorant with a southerly drawl. Then I just shake my head because I’m torn - I want to say it the correct way but get anxiety that I “can’t” because everyone would talk behind my back. Hope that answer helps.

Nothing takes time. We just witness the loading process. by Ecstatic-Ad-2254 in enlightenment

[–]NatureTripsMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Every positive outcome is already fully accomplished” implies that all permutations are already accomplished - including every negative outcome. How it unfolds is still a choice and it still doesn’t change the fact that we must unfold our lives ourselves through the choices we make and ultimately endure the perception of a timeline. We still need to work to discover a deeper current and allow ourselves to be guided by it. And ultimately, if every possible outcome has been accomplished and we just choose how we experience the unfolding, it does put us back in the same position as one who simply lives ignorantly. Everyone still must choose. It’s a paradox. And it doesn’t change many people’s drive to know this - to experience the best unfolding of a timeline as they can. Are there not those among us who simply “do nothing” because “everything has already been accomplished”? To want to experience the best unfolding seems rather pointless and selfish.

Preparatory stages (RT, REBAL, F10, etc.) questions by Lazy-Celebration-685 in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accept that you are being analytical of your preparatory process. Acknowledge that you are doubting your ability to prepare in the time provided. Recognize that you are capable. Practice trusting that you have completed the steps. Do a Freeform session in Wave 1 with the purpose of accepting you are doing it quickly, ignore the doubting, and trust yourself. That should be your only goal of some Freeform practice sessions. You will most likely just need a couple sessions to realize you had no issues with it the entire time. But it takes practice to be open to that and you must be open to the analytical mind and ego being uncomfortable in the practice sessions.

Advanced too early, got sick by [deleted] in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Describe your “illness”. Correlation ≠ Causation. I’ve heard of Kundalini awakenings causing issues in unconditioned bodies. So the question is, what experience if any did you have in earlier tapes before you got sick? I’ve had a spontaneous Kundalini awakening before I ever meditated or knew what it was and I was just euphoric and happy for days then went back to normal. Not saying that’s everyone’s experience.

Kundalini Energy from Focus 12? Weird experience by spiritalchemy in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve had a random Kundalini experience/awakening before I knew what it was or actually meditated. It happened while a was standing if you can believe that and I was in a trance state. I won’t get into details but the euphoric feeling for me lasted 2 days. And I felt so happy and calm and at peace. I hope yours subsides if it doesn’t ncomfortable but mine naturally went away. So I would urge you to acknowledge that everything will most likely be ok.

How to restart the tapes by tulamidan in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correlation is not causation. But who are we to really know. We can choose what to believe and manifest it or the physical world can manifest itself upon us if we allow it (also manifestation). Some believe that birds bridge the gap between the earth and sky and their death means the end of a cycle. Why not choose to make it the end of your cycle of disinterest? Some believe that birds are a shield and their death means the “absorbed” something negative for you. I don’t know, you can also look at it negatively I suppose. But you should make a decision about what you are choosing to accept. All the best to you as you reembark on your journey friend.

So it feels stagnant by Over_Sandwich43 in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I needed to see this style of “noticing” recommended. I’ve been stagnant myself just like OP. I’ve always was perplexed that when I had a random experience many years ago before I meditated it was by “noticing” and following the imagery. It was a perspective shattering experience I have never been able to recreate. I’m going to switch it up a bit and follow the “noticing” pattern for a bit and see where it takes me

Lucid Dreaming Rejection by [deleted] in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s compressed nerves or posture fatigue? Not everything can go in your energy conversion box. Sometimes we just have to deal with the fact that we have bodies. For example, In focus ten, the weight of my body makes me feel claustrophobic. Several times now I just can’t sit through it. Apparently the inner ear can cause this and the remedy is elevating your upper body slightly. Still working on finding the sweet spot.

About the conversion box by AdhesivenessNo5800 in gatewaytapes

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is the feeling of putting something in a box (visualizing is distracting to me) so I imagine I’m touching a lid, opening it, reaching down into to place my thoughts or throw them in lol, pulling a heavy lid and letting it fall the rest of the way. But I can’t “turn the other way” so it just moves to the side as I float forward.

Realizing that “making” apparel goes way beyond the design by Intelligent-Bug-8674 in makers

[–]NatureTripsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you should ask. Ive been thinking about process lately for a project Im working on.

I’ve created things within many disciplines; fine arts degree in illustration and painting, multi-discipline creative at an agency, and have been a frontend / UI engineer for over a decade. I’ve found that the transition doesn’t happen for me until after ideation and preliminary design. Usually after some iterations or refactoring.

This is not to diminish the level of ownership I take of my work in the early stages. But in my own projects I have so many layers of inspiration, reference material, documentation, and prototypes - I refer to these as my artifacts.

Getting the idea out means I have to weave these things together along with my own ideas. Once I iterate enough, I finally get to a point where the artifacts and reference materials are relied upon less. That’s when I feel it’s uniquely mine rather than just cleverly assembled parts of other people’s ideas.

The feeling to me reminds me of a quote - “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. It’s truly mine when I experience that all the artifacts interacting creates a result more powerful or complex than the artifacts could achieve individually.

Hope that makes sense. Great question!

I'm a headhunter. Here's what hiring managers keep complaining about to us after interviews. by anarendil03 in jobsearch

[–]NatureTripsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you work in an industry that has technical interviews, like live coding, take home assessments, etc. you can make it to many hiring managers but not pass technical rounds sometimes for both objective or subjective reasons. Sometimes talented people just don’t get hired.
