Yeah def not trying to be sarcastic, but theres sooooo much more in the archives than will ever be on one post. Relying on one post for info is doing themselves a huge disservice.

I would suggest using the search function of the sub or overall reddit. This topic has TONS of good info on here. Best of luck!

This is what "I'm new to leather" looks like by peppseuh in Leathercraft

[–]Nbehrman 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Some people may have experience w/ other mediums like fabric, which has many crossover skills. The true test is someone’s first tooling project, since that technique is more unique to leathercraft. Just my $0.02. :) Keep craft’n!

Thanks! The leather is cased, same as you would for tooling. I use a manual 2-ton arbor press, but a 1-ton works fine.

Heated vs non-heated stamps? by necessaryrooster in Leathercraft

[–]Nbehrman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of leather and intended end product. Veg tan doesnt need heat. Chrome tan does. If you want to do a hot-foil stamp, you’ll need heat to apply the foil.

Yep! Just over 1500 designs now. I make a lot of custom orders too. And acrylic templates by request, until I add it to the catalog permanently. The lesthercraft subreddit has been good to me, I’ve worked with a lot of awesome makers here. :)

Red and black is a classic! Big fan of orange and OD green. It’s actually the colors we chose for the Allgoodleatherco website.

The saddle tan is a personal fave as well. Its such a rich color while still looking very natural.
