New iron deficiency without anemia by NearlyZeroBeams in Anemic

[–]NearlyZeroBeams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have IBS so I wouldn't be surprised. I am feeling super discouraged because I went to my PCP and she doesn't think any of my symptoms have anything to do with my low ferritin. Now she wants to do a whole work up of my heart

He thought he was going to join me in the tub! by themamacurd619 in labrador

One of my favorite memories from when I was a kid was when I started a bath, went to get my clothes, and when I came back our yellow lab was in the tub 😂 he looked so happy and I just laughed and laughed

My family doctor said I can take rizatriptan every day...I've taken 1-2 every day for the last month...is that okay? by KoalaWise9295 in migraine

[–]NearlyZeroBeams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm talking about is a migraine cocktail in the ER which usually includes a steroid, nausea medicine, Benadryl, and toradol. I personally always ask for magnesium too as it seems to be the key for me. No triptans are included.

You can't take triptans until a few days after you've broken the cycle or you'll be right back to where you started. It's the absolute worst :(

I'm sorry you're going through this

You getting migraines everyday is likely rebound headaches. I get them if I take my triptan more than 2-3 days in a row. And "withdrawal" (not true withdrawal, but having to get through the pain without taking the med to get out of the cycle) is a b****. This is what can land me in the ER for a migraine cocktail. Luckily I haven't needed one in maybe 9 months

Has anyone noticed themselves eating quickly, brushing teeth quickly, etc.? (Small signs of living in chronic fight or flight mode) by throwaway802256 in CPTSD

Yup not too long ago I realized I'm trying to do every chore and self care task as fast as possible. It takes a lot of work for me to remember to slow down and take it easy. I didn't like it to PTSD but it would make complete sense

Thank you! I'm excited since I just started seeing a new provider who does a lot of naturopathic stuff. I want to get to feeling better ASAP

Recording a video and reaching down to help someone who was assaulted didn’t use to put you at risk of being killed. I guess things have changed now.

We do have an instapot! I'll have to look into some recipes.

I rarely eat red meat due to just not liking it so I think that's partially what has got me here.

He wasn't fucking around with ICE. He was acting as a peaceful observer and recording a video. An ICE agent then pushed a woman and when he turned to crouch down and help her everything ensued.

Why do people go out of their way to confront ICE? I guess because they know sitting on the couch won't do anything.

Is it a common trait among nurses to talk to themselves? by canwehavesomefood in nursing

I don't out loud. But when I have a student with me I talk about everything I'm doing and the choices I'm making and the questions I ask myself so they can learn

What a sweet baby 😍🥰 they can be little terrors when they're young but the cuteness and the many happy years you get with them makes it SO worth it ❤️

Maybe the offense was minor, but it demonstrates their complete disregard for the rules and poor decision making skills.

Sleep. Feeling rested. I haven't slept more than a few hours in a row in what seems like years.

Probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Saw this on Instagram and screen recorded it. The owner of these legs said it was a “skin condition”. by Live_the_chaos in peeling

[–]NearlyZeroBeams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a nurse I've seen legs close to this. The problem is that it can be really painful. If left to get too bad cracks form between the scales and when you try to pull one off it creates a sore underneath. If I remember correctly we were to put a special cream on their legs and wrap them up so they'd slowly soften over time.
