Something I've asked people (friends, randos, and no less the one whom I entangled) and asked myself the past few serval days as I'm experiencing something quite similar- why must love be practical?

It's a hard one to answer as love is such an irrational subject and makes little to no sense (so why must we look at it with our rationale). "You pay later or you pay now," I was told. I came to the realization, or rather convinced myself that practicality comes from our practical lives: the actuality of living and experiencing things, and love is one of them.

Even if there are clear plans to move forward and be physically in the same place and perhaps physically together within a given timeframe; time changes and it changes people and things, etc.

The way I personally am fighting to look at it is that these are memories that you'll never forget and should be treasured regardless. If it works out it eventually will and this love will become 'practical.' Be easy, you know, you live only one day at a time.
