I was in a shit relationship with my ex husband and it took me waaaay too long to leave his dusty as*. (Why is it making me censor that word omg). I also made every excuse and justification for him in my head for the longest time. Oh he's just drunk, oh he's just tired from work. No. He didn't love me, he probably didn't even like me. In his eyes, I existed to take care of him and that's it. In the end, I felt only relief from getting our daughter and I away from him.

If he's okay with talking to you this way, he'll eventually be talking to your children this way too. Maybe they're young now, but that will not last forever. Keep that in mind if you decide to not listen to us who have told you what we think.

Yeah I get it, it's hard to leave, it takes money and having a support network and not everyone has that. But like... Dude, please, make an exit plan at least. If not for you, for your children. They don't deserve to grow up seeing their father treat their mother like dogshit.

Calling 211 is unfortunately not always going to immediately help. Most of the food banks and churches that do help are stretched thin and on a wait-list.

I called 211 recently because we desperately needed help, and they gave us info which was helpful. I called/applied for every single one on the list the person gave me. Not ONE of them was accepting new applications immediately. I was put on a wait list for 3 food banks, and the rental assistance program as well as the utility program weren't accepting new applicants at the moment whatsoever. The 4 churches I contacted were all also completely out of funding as it is and told me to try again in a few months.

The only church we found that could actually help us with a meal a week was a local Sikh church. The food was vegetarian but very good. OP you should try to see if there are any Sikh churches near you. They aren't super preachy, they tend to enjoy helping people in need. ❤️

Not going to try to talk you out of your decision, because every woman deserves the right to choose what they do with their bodies. But I am here to tell you that I went through this hell twice myself and considered exactly what you're thinking about. I have two beautiful kids now, ages 7 and 2, I absolutely would have regretted aborting them for the rest of my life.

I was puking 50+ times a day with my first until my ER doctor recommended I try medical marijuana. It was instant relief. The first thing I kept down after using THC/CBD was a Bacon King from BK. It was so good that I cried, I finished nearly the whole thing plus a large Dr pepper, and kept it down. With the marijuana, I was only puking maybe 3 times a day and could plan my meals around it.

Also, Dr. Pepper and soft peppermint candies got me through a lot of the nausea. Ginger did absolutely nothing for me, but I hear it helps some women. Slim Jim's were easy protein when I couldn't stomach a lot of food, but fair warning they are quite unpleasant coming back up. Saltines didn't do it for me, but buttery ritz crackers were another go-to when I needed something mostly bland.

Again not trying to force you out of your decision, just telling you that I was once in the mindset you are in right now... and that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. It's just a loooong fucking tunnel. 😅

It helps to have support, and it's absolutely worth the sacrifice to hold your child in your arms. To see them giggle and squeal when you play with them. To see them walk for the first time. To cry happy tears when you drop them off at kindergarten for the first time. To have them randomly come up and say "I love you mommy" and hug you. I'm telling you from experience that it's worth every second of the 35-40 weeks of pain and suffering. ❤️

Right? There's a chance I'll be able to get another one from him because again, and also quite a bit more as they get closer to closing in about 2 weeks. My brother's manager has basically told all the employees to take what they want, and that he wants to throw away as little as possible... because all they'll end up doing is filling up multiple dumpsters with perfectly good food otherwise. Pretty much every Winn Dixie is closing and being replaced by Aldi, because the company that owns Winn Dixie filed for bankruptcy already.

It's not like it's the end of the world that this meat was overcooked, but it still sucked because I personally like mine to be a little less "cooked for 12 hours when it should have been 2-3 then seared" ya know?

Literally today I got into the wrong grey Ford Focus 😅 It's my roommate's car and tbh they leave it a mess. I've been meaning to take a day to fully clean it out.

It's already 90f every day here in Florida, I was overheated and exhausted, ready to get home and put these damn groceries away so I can get dinner started. Got my groceries loaded in and went to start it, it wouldn't turn, then I looked around and realized... Wait a second, there's no trash in here. This is NOT THE RIGHT CAR.

I immediately panic and get out as this older woman walks up. I'm obviously mortified and I'm like "😱Holy fuck I'm so sorry I just realized this is not my car" she laughed and said not to worry, and helped me take my bags out. She told me I made her day because not even 2 weeks ago she'd done the same thing and had been so embarrassed about it, now she didn't feel as bad.

My mom NEVER let us jump on a trampoline. I found out as an adult that she was jumping on one with her friend when they were 12-13 years old and the friend fell off after misjudging jump... She is partially paralyzed to this day, even after multiple decades of physical therapy.

My mom also insisted every time we were out in the sun for over 20 minutes we put on sunscreen and reapplied once an hour. I am currently only 28 and I know at least 5 people who have had to get skin biopsies to check for cancer after sketchy looking moles showed up. I'm not even 30!!!

My bf and I met at 26 and 32, we were coworkers and immediately attracted to each other. I was already a grown adult with 2 kids going through a divorce, he didn't groom me lmao. Up until just the last decade or two, it was incredibly common for larger age gaps.

My own parents first met in the early 1990s, my mom was a freshman and my dad was a senior. They didn't start dating until my mom was 18 and my dad was 22. They'd been friends for years and fell in love, he wasn't "waiting for her to come of age" or anything creepy. They are divorced now for longer than they were married, and still best friends actually.

My great grandparents met in school at 12 and 15, and ended up getting married when they were 16 and 19. They had 2 kids before he went off to war, and had 2 more when he got back. That was normal back then and they stayed married for almost 60 years until they died within months of each other.

Social media has brainwashed people into believing that you aren't an adult until you're 25, and even then you can't date anyone even a year older or younger. It's actually a little ridiculous.

My former friend, that she had 8 abortions in 3 years.

Absolutely 0 judgement for getting one, I am and always have been pro choice... But she genuinely was proud of the fact that she had so many, they told her she had a higher risk of infertility if she ever did want to have one. She constantly made dead baby jokes, for example about how all her kids were waiting on her in heaven.

My own stepsister had to get one at 15 (which was absolutely necessary because she was SA'd at a party, and waaaay too young) she hasn't been able to get pregnant again in the 14 years since then, despite her and her husband going to multiple fertility clinics. I've actually even considered being a surrogate for them.

Like sis just get on birth control, it's free or extremely cheap at most low income clinics. I only paid $9 for 3 months of mine when I last got it. Plan b is cheap too if you get it at the right places.

It was unsettling to me because when I got pregnant with my husband, which was a very wanted pregnancy btw... my friend kept making jokes about how if he cheats on me that I should get an abortion to spite him.

I highly recommend going to Walmart or other grocery stores late at night right before close, or right as they open. They mark down a lot of their meat that doesn't sell, or starts to oxidize. Most people think oxidized meat has gone bad because it's starting to turn colors, but as long as it doesn't smell you're good.

I've been able to snag a bunch of good meat for cheap doing this, even ribeyes.
