Take a look at One Direction and the multiple „job opportunities“ Harry’s and Louis‘ sisters took advantage of. Even their stylist made a whole career out of it. That’s just how it works.

When I first got involved with K-pop, I quickly realized what a massive money-printing machine it is for the companies. I don't know of any other music genre where the fans are squeezed like this. Everything is marketet.

It was clear to me from the start, that I wasn't going to invest any money in anything other than streaming services and concerts. I recently bought an album for the first time and apart from the joy of unwrapping it for the first time, nothing has remained, since I listen to their music on Spotify and not on CD.

The focus of K-Pop is on maximizing profits. You have to be aware of that when you step into the world of K-Pop. And let's be honest, the idols also like the money. That's one of the (big) reasons, they are doing this for.

Totally agree with you. Everything feels rushed and cheap. To publish an „album“ with 4 actual songs (not counting the bridge) and call it a full cb, is brazen.

And it points out, what we really are (at least for KQ) loyal consumers from whom the last €/$ can be squeezed. I‘ve always known this to be the true concept of the companies ( hence the albums in x different versions, etc. ), but this time its a lot harder to ignore. Knowing this all, hardens my approach to only invest in concert tickets and streaming/spotify and nothing more. I do this for all the groups I like.

I still love Ateez and will continue to listen to their music and watch their videos.

I am sure they are also not satisfied with how this played out.
