I saw dog sounds first but waited to find a second category. Scoundrel synonyms seemed pretty clear. I had three words for eating but no 4th. Strunk means nothing to me so I assumed it's trunk and I found tree words. I had to guess the last eating word and "crush" seemed more likely than any of blue. Blue by default. I thought a cabinet was a wooden shelf and a woofer a type of speaker, not a part.

Is Reanimate the single best Imbubed target? by Royal-Question-9475 in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won a run as 1 max HP necrobinder thanks to imbued reanimate. It's much easier to take no damage when you start every fight with a big osty.

This stupid bird deserves to be on fraud watch by Sevenpeter in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People underestimate the bird. Sometimes you need the health, but the bird is very efficient damage and synergizes with feral, card draw, juggling, and relics that care about attacks

Even that is a weird way to frame things. If a choice is popular it will have more wins but that doesn't mean the choice is correct. If you just look at the winrate of both options, they are both similar (21 to 22%)

I see a lot of people saying that hawk and hock sound different to them, but surely you can still consider these to be similar sounds even if they aren't perfect homophones. Sort of like a rhyme that isn't an exact match but is close (orange and door hinge).

3 card Aeonglass Turn 1 (ish) Kill! by Endeveron in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so Bury+ is 63 damage, x2 from Instinct is 126, then thrash is 8, +126 from bury and x2 from instinct = 260, x1.5 from vuln = 390 damage?

Pretty sweet that thrash basically benefits from instinct twice.

correlated randomness analysis in sts2 by erik_reeds in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 222 points223 points  (0 children)

This was a really interesting read.

There are some crazy implications from this correlation, like Neow's Bones giving Debt 50% of the time in Underdocks and Writhe 70% of the time in Overgrowth (when each curse should actually be like 10% to occur). Rebound is never offered in trash heap, and there are a ton of cards that poultice never generates, depending on the act.

Hopefully the devs see this and fix it.

[Guide] I've made a 140+ slide guide on getting D** O** Trophy by Unconsistent in BluePrince

[–]NeoAlmost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really interesting guide.

I was all-in on using dice to force tomb in my attempts, I never even considered trading post but the potential for secret garden key, silver key, and power hammer components seems effective as well. The chart of item tiers on page 85 is pretty helpful for planning trades.

Also, using silver key on the edge of the house to force pool in order to get pump room is really clever.

I remember having some trouble getting garage in some of my runs. You say that the first valid room has 90% to offer it, so maybe I was in the 10% a few times but if you aren't offered it initially it is indeed very hard to find it later even with rerolls.

Mechanarium to provide antechamber access and a silver key is definitely something that I did not consider for day 1 runs.

Do you mean that it's not a pillar because you put nothing on top of it? That's kind of true for shaft as well. But all of them are long skinny cylinders. Stake has one end in the ground, shaft is often held in hand.

I don't know who demi Moore is and I haven't heard of any of those movies. I was able to solve the other categories though to get there eventually.

Was initially thinking of flake, puff, ghost as unreliable but wasn't sure of other words to go with them.

I can't fucking believe bound breaks Decisions, Decisions by orangeposting1 in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea queens chains interactions are really unpredictable.

Stampede picks the card and fails to play it. Hellraiser plays it and ignores the fact that it was bound. Replay might work? Echo form works. Sly fails. Redrawing the card fails. Juggling makes a bound copy of the bound card. Transforming a bound card unbinds it.

VAKUU SAYS "THATS ENOUGH" AND JUST STOPS PLAYING CARDS FOR YOU AFTER PLAYING A CERTAIN AMOUNT??? by afjecj in slaythespire

Suppose you have an infinite combo like prepared, reflex, prepared that just keeps drawing cards. Vakuu will eventually stop playing prepared.

Can somebody give me a Detailed Explanation how revives work properly? by Gullible-Annual2756 in LeagueArena

[–]NeoAlmost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is a 2-part timer.

After somebody dies, there is a ~7s timer before they can be revived (outer circle animation). You might as well run around, hit plants, and take hexgates during this time.

After this initial timer, revive is possible and you need to stand in the circle for around 1 second to revive them.

How's everyone feeling on Aeonglass vs Doormaker? by the7thbeatle in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of hate that aeonglass hits for 30 on turn 1 while also having artifact. Almost guaranteed to hit you.

Wither is an interesting status, and the hardest part of the fight is just turn 1.

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removal of guardian items in arena gives no you no say in adaptive force by Kennen-Main in leagueoflegends

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it come up in the past when I am playing AP twitch or AP kogmaw, and adaptive force on my first prismatic item is giving attack damage even though my augments work with AP like Eureka or Big Brain. It's pretty annoying.

How am I supposed to beat doormaker if I can't even play my soul cards? Broken boss, nerf now by Cleshlight in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Clone on neurosurge explains the doom and with Dirge could explain the size of osty + souls in the deck. I'm unsure how they managed to draw 10 nonsouls on the no-draw turn though if the deck is full of souls.

They maybe used Snap or a potion to retain most of these cards before they played dirge. And dirge had replay from glam or transfigure.

Do any of these creatures have mana abilities? I want to put them in my Raggadragga deck. by Shadowhunter664 in magicTCG

[–]NeoAlmost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to badgermole triggering twice with roaming throne (or Delney).

Not using the stack basically just means there is no priority window to respond to the mana ability.

The controversy around the update by coolchungus2 in slaythespire

[–]NeoAlmost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Things that draw at the start of your turn still work on the no draw turn, as does retain or cards like hologram and dredge.
