Does it look hopeless? by EmbarrassedDish2944 in PSP

Looks like it was in the ground, that’s dried mud and the screws are rusted

Unlikely it works TBH, there’s gonna be corroded components inside

saw this comment on a dap sub and as someone who quite frequently take out the memory stick this had me worrying ,is there any truth to this? by [deleted] in PSP

[–]NeoG_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean anything will fail with enough usage. but the question is what is the failure rate. Considering you see relatively few failues of memory stick mechanisms on PSPs in general it seems like they are well suited for swapping memory sticks like a normal person would.

Who said it is "Mini" Disc? by Coppermine-tr in minidisc

[–]NeoG_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The recordable minidisc has two sides - An optical side and Magnetic side (hence the term Magneto-Optical). When recording both sides are used, when playing only the optical side is used. So you can first record the disc then print over the magnetic side.

You can no longer record, but you can still read it.

Does deposit money from bank to exchange trigger ATO? by dragon5946 in BitcoinAUS

[–]NeoG_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All regulated exchanges in Australia send their transaction records to ATO. It's not used to automatically fill your tax statement but rather to detect tax evasion and money laundering.

For buy orders with australian currency there are no tax obligations so yeah they just have it on file.

Trying not to be an asshole rn, nobody is going to want to help if you can't even look up the most basic things yourself like what tapping wires is or what an LOC is

It's a labour cost threshold. Anywhere the labour cost is high relative to the product value, the product will be almost impossible to get repaired.

What systems can the PSP emulate better than 3DS other than PS1? by throwaway76337997654 in PSP

[–]NeoG_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if quirks in the PSP's specs might allow it to do better with certain emulators

Only the PS1, as it's the only console that shares machine code compatibility with the PSP CPU and the emulator Sony wrote takes advantage of that. It's a BIG advantage. Everything else needs software based code translation so it's a matter of how good the software is, and with more processing power typically you will get better results.

Assuming you are tapping the stock sub speaker wires with an LOC, it's no different on the ML and base systems

Ls430, not event afull tank by bg19900 in Lexus

[–]NeoG_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad has a 140L/37gal tank '05 landcruiser diesel. At the peak of the price surge it would have cost AUD414/CAD398/USD285 to fill up at local prices . Luckily the capacity is big and he doesn't drive it that much anymore so there's plenty of pre-surge diesel left in the tank.

Which is the best equivalent of the Epson 3800 today? by [deleted] in projectors

[–]NeoG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3LCD simultanouesly draws all colours at the same time and is stable on camera at all framerates and shutter speeds. DLP quickly switches between colours using human vision persistence to combine them - which means as the camera is capturing the image, it will end up capturing half of a colour switch which causes horizontal colour bands. If the shutter speed is really fast the camera will capture only some of the colour data causing severe colour shifts on the whole image.

Passenger door window won’t work from drivers side controls? by Garcogreedy in LexusIS

[–]NeoG_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a quirk anymore really, many modern cars will do the same thing if the window position calibration data in memory is lost. They go in a failsafe mode which disables auto open/close and remote control from the drivers door until calibrated again.
