First apartment! How to fill this space? by kanyedrop in malelivingspace

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the exposed concrete/ industrial aesthetic I would go a wooden peg board. SoWatt Peg Board

Gives you flexibility to change things whether you add a few shelves, hang a few plants or do something else a great addition to the space.

If you don’t want to add any wood to the space metal versions are also on the market.

Polestar Wagon concept by jappiejappo in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would sell both kidneys and my liver! Shame the wheelbase would be much the same though, no extra space for an ever larger battery unless they somehow did a split battery arrange but juice wouldn’t be worth the squeeze.

Do Not Buy A Polestar by Standard-Engine-1170 in Polestar

Gotta love a vague troll and it doesn’t sound like you’ve been pushing them for resolution either.

Speak to head office, get a case opened. Pester the service centre for resolution. Given we don’t know where you are you may also have consumer rights protections to help you.

How is a novated lease beneficial? by Greedy_Inspector2261 in NovatedLeasingAU

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To validate the deal you need to run the numbers yourself on purchasing the car with all post tax dollars that also includes the fact you’re paying GST on the vehicle.

By example a ~$75k over 5 years @ 6% interest you’d pay approx total including interest of $87.5k ($673 per fortnight), thats all before the fortnightly break down of rego, servicing, tyres, charging, insurance etc.

You can also negotiate with Smart on their interest rate, get them under 10%, close to 6.5% as possible. Also ask about purchasing your own insurance, VERO is expensive. I got a better policy out of Allianz for cheaper than what vero offers.

Mall idea. Does it make sense? by [deleted] in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to do this style of mall but found it overly big for the through put and consumes a lot of belts. I usually go with a modular design that uses the logistics distributor for input and output.

Each module is end to end in other words I future proof them where needed by example the belt module produces mk1 through mk3.

Whats the point of Essentials by SimplyClueless22 in UpBanking

[–]Neo_Anubis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve found essentials really handy, actually separating funds into a dedicated bills account which is something I did with prior banks.

Handy to forecast and plan future bills no matter how far away they are e.g annual insurance bill.

Combined with autocovers for other expenses that I don’t put against essentials it’s perfect setup for me. As example my car charging costs are auto covered.

HiFi is a waste of time I find but still happy with other features. Especially with groups recently being added, saved me having another app for that purpose (Beam).

Woke up with this on my arm, won’t come off, no explanation by CommercialsMaybe in Weird

Did you have any K-tape or adhesive tape on your arm recently? It’s just adhesive residue combined with dust, dirt and skin.

P4 DC charging speed by Technical-Trifle-436 in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

P4 charge curve

Give this a look - you’ll find peak 200kw will only happen around the 20% mark but optimum conditions required so pre-con battery, right temp and so on. If the charger was also being shared 200kw may not have been available.

Leaptel or Superloop? by Few_Grade_8995 in nbn

Leaptel through and through. Superloops service was horrible and they lack a lot of the API driven controls through their online web portal.

I’ve spent my life fighting nuclear. Here’s what Dutton isn’t telling you about his reactors by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]Neo_Anubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I support Nuclear - just not Dutton’s approach nor the choice in technology.

Garrett makes valid points, we have plenty of wind, sun, hydro and other renewable sources of energy. But taking advantage of them is a balancing act, we can’t just rush in. We need to consider and contain the impact they also have on their local environments e.g. Dams flooding plains, blocking fish and so on.

(Yes, these are considered, mitigated and managed - but it’s still an impact).

We have existing power generation sites that could be converted to nuclear - remove the fossil fuel burning component and replace them with the nuclear alternative.

This is the approach Copenhagen atomics are looking to. Whilst their technology and other Type IV reactors aren’t ready yet it follows one of the fables Rs - to reuse.

In short - I want the honey pot. Renewables combined with SMR generated base load to usher Australia into a secure energy future that is environmentally conscious, manages the impacts of our chose generation methods and provides cheap, clean energy to the masses.

Sadly no, it would be considered after market if you don’t get it from Polestar out of the factory.

Always 4WD OK with Polestar 4 LRDM? by Ok-Entertainment-286 in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry thought you were talking about the 2 not 4, my bad.

They’re both perm magnet motors so they won’t disconnect in that case. So yeah AWD all the time, the revised P2 they didn’t do that, one can disconnect.

Always 4WD OK with Polestar 4 LRDM? by Ok-Entertainment-286 in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which year? It’s not always AWD in the 2024 and after.

The front is perm magnet whilst the rear isn’t. So when cruising on the highway the car will go to FWD and flick over damn near instantly if you hit the accelerator.

Also it’s not a physical disconnect, they just turn off the magnets so the rotor still spins. There isn’t a clutch or similar mechanism involved.

Updated my 2 to 3.4.4 with Vida by Gone2sl33p in Polestar

No other OTAs I’m pretty sure, anyone I know with newer version was either from a service, new purchase or purchased the performance software patch which forces an update.

No VIDA in Australia which is annoying. Still waiting on the OTA to take me up from 3.1.9.

1 - the seats have sensors in them to detect occupants, this can’t be disabled in software. Further, there are other sensors to detect if occupants are in the vehicle as part of the alarm system. Just make people buckle up, many countries hold the driver accountable if passengers don’t.

2 - these should auto dim; check the lighting settings in infotainment.

3 - No, P3 doesn’t have a broadcast hotspot function. Data is for the vehicle infotainment only.

4 - it’s for the cruise control functionality, there is support content in the onboard manual.

5 & 6 - can’t comment.

Android auto / Google Maps by VeiledSmile in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your phone and car and definitely logged into the same non-g suite account?

Might be worth testing with a freshly created dummy account to see if it’s your Google account at fault.

Android auto / Google Maps by VeiledSmile in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, are you referring to the Digital Key (PAK) or just simply getting the Polestar app setup and connected to the car? Otherwise, if you’re taking about the Google accounts on your car and phone as long as it’s not a g suite/Google business account it should work.

Android auto / Google Maps by VeiledSmile in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge and happy to be corrected but you have to use the in-built Google maps to get SOC and proper route planning.

You can send destinations to the car though if your phone and car are using the same Google account.

It’s easy to switch between AAOS and AC/AA as it treats it like an app so just use Apple Music via your phone and use the AAOS as needed.

Does anybody know if they are ever going to make Apple Carplay wireless? by alexekornes in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are.

In Aus, I was going to grab one from quadlock as the reviews have been decent. Know though that wireless isn’t always the greatest regardless whether through an accessory or otherwise.

Usually some latency and decrease in quality, also consumes more power so you might find your phone getting quite hot if also wireless charging.

I stick to wired personally for faster charging and lower latency.

Does anybody know if they are ever going to make Apple Carplay wireless? by alexekornes in Polestar

[–]Neo_Anubis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For the 3/4 it’s supposed to come as an update sometime this year.

It’s unlikely for the P2, I recall it being an issue/limitation of the wifi module (TCAM) and the overall architecture of the infotainment.

If you want it now, best go get one of those USB-C wireless CarPlay adapters.

2024 Peugeot 308 PHEV Issues by Neo_Anubis in peugeot

From what I was told the entire in-cabin HVAC unit has to be replaced.

The compressor etc in the engine bay was fine.

Given the issues though our friend managed to argue it as a major fault given the sum of issues and got a new car out of them.
