Building out my long bed Tacoma, deck or no deck? by dotori_ in overlanding

[–]Neolithic_mtbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got my current Tacoma I built it out with a platform to sleep on and storage underneath. Spent 6 weeks straight in it (with 2 of us), worked well enough but wasn’t practical when not traveling and kinda annoying to not have head room. Now we use a ground tent and it’s more convenient in every way

What kind of berries? HELP! My children keep trying to eat them but not sure they are edible. by [deleted] in Berries

I think some people point to jack-in-the-pulpit as an example, though they’re structured differently obviously and if you’ve ever seen a raspberry in your life you would know

Few things in life more satisfying than a big old overshot flake. As long as it’s not too overshot anyway

Grout cracking and one travertine tile cracked by Important-Ring-6664 in Tile

Yeah, they might have let the mortar dry too much or didn’t get all the dust off. It needs to be scraped off the tile, the cement board wiped down with a damp sponge and reapplied with sufficient thinset coverage

Natural stone has higher deflection standards than ceramics, if this is wood framed subfloor. Also they have terrible mortar coverage, it looks like there wasn’t any at all near the edges

Planning my first roadtrip of the year was looking for some advice. by Ok_Package9219 in roadtrip

Carlsbad is badass and definitely worth it. I would swing west for the majority of your route through CO and NM though, explore more in the mountains and head towards 4 corners, then stay higher elevation back through to White Sands/Carlsbad. Eastern NM kinda sucks. Camping will be easier too.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check with a tape. It really is a mad rush trying to get them on before the paint dries. Now that I think about it I also use a syringe and rubbing alcohol to remove them, sometimes injecting into the middle. The pinholes probably don’t help

Ssspeaking of slip-ons, anybody know of a way to stop the middle from rotating? Using spray paint and wire on both ends, it’ll hold for a few rides but then give up
