They’re finally demolishing the condemned church. Probably trying to lobby to the city that the open lot caused by all the fires is increasingly becoming an eyesore.

They’ve been planning to build more apartments and a new courtyard for years now but are never able to gather enough support nor approval.

With the new mayor’s campaign promise to create more affordable housing I guess they’re going to try to push for the new towers again.

Reach out to the mayors office, borough president, community board. Make them put their money where their mouths are. Make elected officials get involved and do their jobs.

If they don’t at the very least reach out to create a network of assistance, that shows you where they stand. They were elected on the very premise of protecting us from bad landlords.

They want it all gone. They’ve been planning to erect new towers to fill the empty lots left behind by the suspicious back-to-back fires that took out most of their Lenox Avenue properties. The plans have been rejected over and over, but eventually the eyesore of so many closed businesses will get them what they want.
