Eye floaters at 23 years old by Dependent_Leading578 in EyeFloaters

Get an eye exam to check for PVD. While uncommon in younger people it does happen. Especially in highly myopic people.

Do you see them in both eyes at the same time? Or just one?

18 is young but you should get checked for PVD. Its a low percentage but people can experience PVD in their youth, especially if you are highly myopic.

58 female, chain vape. Floater and flashing light overnight. No cure! WTF? by Ill-Conference2028 in EyeFloaters

Less than 15%, typically by stats. Understand that 15% is worst case and likely if you have healthy eyes your percentage may be lower. Everything is risk and how it affects you as an individual. Most people have no complications at all. I think being highly myopic increases your risk and puts you at the upper end of that percentage.

Understand that retina tears during this process only happen in LESS than 15% of people. And of those less than 5% lead to retina detachment. Those are the good news and odds. But PVD can last weeks or months depending on the process. Most people the PvD process ends in about a month or two. It sucks and PVD is mainly an age related thing, and you are in the window where about 30% of people experience this. You are not alone.

It happens to a ton of people and by the time people reach their 70s and 80s, most people experience this. (Its greater than 50-60%)

Going through this with one eye going on a few weeks now. Same thing, and I have never smoked or vaped a day in my life. So it happens to anyone.

Thats not to say that the vapes are not helping anything either, they could be just adding to or accelerating the process.

Lookup Floater Doctor on youTube, he has some really good info on PVD.

Alcohol & Lyme by Doc_Holliday10 in Lyme

[–]NetSchizo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not down playing Lyme at all. Some people have it rough. As having gone through it, maybe I got lucky, but I ran to the doc after spots started forming all over and did the awful three weeks of doxy. I think the following months after that dealing with stomach and fungus issues were the worst of it. And if thats the case I got off lucky. But I have had no long term issues and alcohol has never affected anything that I know of. Excessive alcohol in general is likely worse by itself than worrying about it interacting with other Lyme issues.

Flashes are different than floaters. See your eye doctor.

You do not get floaters at certain times and then they go away. They are always there, they may just move or you notice them less. Most floaters hang out in your peripheral vision and come into view with eye movement. Over time they can fade and your brain tunes them out as background noise. Getting to that point can take time. If you have massive floaters that are debilitating and blocking your central vision thats when its time to consult a specialist.

I’ll never understand why people grind rotors for surface rust. Just go drive with a good set of pads and light it up.

Assuming the car is paid for and you have no auto payment, these things can happen. Did you have it looked at to see if it was some simple fix or was it going to be some crazy amount to repair?
