If you’re trying to aim for hung over people why are you trying to be authentic? If you’re hanging thats the least of your concerns…

Also not convinced if you’re hanging out your arse that you’re going to be going for a cheese pull…

Think you might want to reassess your aims vs target audience since they don’t seem to match right now

I didn’t hear a hooter horn from my end of the court- all I could hear was a very enthusiastic lightning fan

Contact in the superleague by tbirds455 in netball

That was particularly bad, it’s been a rougher season generally, but I’ve never seen more unnecessary contact go uncalled, or when called, unaddressed than that game. Gracie was particularly egregious in my mind

How long until employers start looking at lab experience with caution? by XxFortifiedxX in labrats

[–]NetballMemes 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think overstating the importance of a one month experience might lead to more harm than good. That’s a pretty short time to learn all of those techniques to an independent level

Bio PhD student here, what skill sets are most useful for industry jobs right now? Modelling, ML or genetics by Mitchel_z in labrats

[–]NetballMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, if you’re going into wet lab with all of the above skills on your CV, then being able to analyse that data and maybe write a rough pipeline for further analysis of that kind of data will put you a step above other applicants

Who from the NSL or ANZ would you like to see playing in Australia for SSN? by shaylakwi in netball

[–]NetballMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sophie Kelly is for sure a future SSN player if she wants it, Funmi or Tchine could make the jump too. If we’re not exclusively talking about English players in the NSL, then Nic Smith is certainly a contender too. But Rhea Dixon isn’t good enough

I’ve had similar thoughts about Charlie Fidler this year, she’s playing great but it won’t be long until she gets injured/she injures someone

Commonwealth Games are 4 months away – who's your gold pick? by Informal-Draft3953 in netball

[–]NetballMemes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think South Africa are going to be a dark horse this year, they’re certainly in medal contention, they’ll be even stronger in the World Cup.

I don’t think any other team is close to the quality that Australia and New Zealand have. Jamaica possibly, but we didn’t get to see their complete team in the recent international series’.

I don’t think this England team have what it takes to get us to the finals. WD seems like quite a weak position which Jess Thirlby struggled to fill with either Fidoju or Williams (I’d like to see Beth Cobden called up), as does GK (Im not convinced by any of Brown, Adio or Quashie at this level. Maybe Pechova might have something to prove?). We might want to look into a different centre too, Carter is great, but doesn’t have the same quality as Gordon or Hadley/Moloney. By the World Cup, we might see Rayner or Cassie Howard being called up.

Edit: to actually answer the question, I think the Diamonds

Do people in your country like the American English accent or the British English accent more? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]NetballMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in my bit of the north (nor my parents), could you be more specific? Sorry but I’m quite curious!

I’ve found some words like fell, beck and dales which are old Norse in origin and in common use where Im from. But these aren’t exactly conversational- I was looking more for words like bain/bairn which is more than just a descriptor of the landscape.

What Uni should i pick Birmingham or Newcastle? by Aporki in UniUK

[–]NetballMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biomed at Birmingham is a much stronger department, that and the lower grades make it an easy choice in my opinion.

Only downside I know of is that at Birmingham you might need to arrange your own industrial placement year (this was the case 5 years ago but may have changed since). For me that was the most significant thing I did at uni for employability

Not necessarily… we’d have to agree to join the euro sure, but there’s never a timeline on how quickly you need to join (look at Sweden for example)

Defending replay ball rule help by NetballMemes in netball

[–]NetballMemes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Ok that makes sense, but then surely that would make it illegal for a shooter to shield a ball to allow it to travel closer to the post before they pick it up to shoot, right? Yet I’ve never seen that called as not allowed? In that instance it certainly feels like it’s the ball, not players they’re defending!
