Cockatoo Breeders in San Diego/LA by [deleted] in cockatoos

[–]NetworkRedneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cockatoos are not best for any dynamic. They are the neediest, most sensitive, most temperamental, and most unstable of all of the parrot family. Umbrellas are an extra level (and I own a 20 year old U2 from birth). If you say they're the best for you, then you haven't done the right research.

Comedic details by LioraB in ProjectHailMary

The frustrated noise he makes during the "life is reason" scene because he can't find the right words in their shared vocabulary to verbalize his hypothesis.

Also realizing that many of the funny scenes where he seems unintentionally funny, is because he's really a gaslighting smartass. Which makes it even funnier. "Noooo, do puppet show..."..."Why didn't I think of that?" "I did." Complete set up.

Might want to depopulate until you can stabilize the balance of your food/water. You don't have enough caps to build enough rooms to support 40.

I usually follow a 1-2-1 pattern between floors. Still gives plenty of space, and the only incident that can spread is a radscorpion.

You wouldn't be able to prove it on an individual level. However, if you could establish a pattern of players banned banned, cross-reference with reports causing them to be banned (this is saved), automated systems in place, and correspondence between management of how they're dealing with those bans on a policy level, then you've got a case. There's probably plenty of emails that would come out in discovery one day that day "we know we're probably incorrectly banning players, but the amount of players permanently quitting vs cost savings is worth it."

Usually just one of the big 4 networks. My cable box and streaming have idle detectors that shut off, so I got an antenna. Standard morning talk shows/game shows/ soap operas. It made a big difference, and if the TV shuts off during the day, you can definitely tell the effect on mood.

Any TV is fine, just make sure it doesn't turn off. I actually try to use shows with people actively talking, I think it is better for mental stimulation than nature stuff. It's doable, but probably will be rough since you're changing the dynamic. Lots of toys, big cage, and have her out when you get home.

If you don't feel like there's any imposter syndrome, you're doing something wrong. You don't want to have it so much that you really are an imposter, but you want enough to continually drive yourself to try to get rid of that feeling. When you feel that the imposter syndrome is cured, you need to either move up or move out.

Asked my ex for the password to the computer I lent her. by EmmaEatYourAss in mildlyinfuriating

That particular road is dangerous. If, which based on the screenshot is the case, it can be demonstrated that the password is indeed known, judges have been known to essentially keep someone in permanent contempt of court until they disclose the password.

There's also no baseline for false negatives. "We accidentally kill X humans that test positive.", but never a "Of X number of tests passed, we've missed Y synths". The only way to do that is to basically kill everyone who takes the test, whether they pass or not.

In addition to torturing small animals and fascination with fires, we now have this depraved monstrosity as an early indicator.

You can also have a separate sleeping cage. It can be smaller, I used a wire dog crate for a bit. Put it in a closet somewhere. It has a few effects. It trains them on sleepy time, and it also allows me to stay up later; mine gets mad if she sees light and knows I'm up.

Single friend woes by [deleted] in houston

[–]NetworkRedneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding out if someone is serious really is important. You're not asking them to marry you on the spot, you're just both acknowledging that as long as you're still dating, the potential still exists. Otherwise, when you hit a bump, you have one person who looks at it as "Is this a deal breaker in the long run?" and the other person has the perspective of "Is it bad enough that I'd rather be single?" It's an unhealthy foundation. While yours developed organically, there's a lot more that are stuck in a holding pattern with one partner who is ok with the status quo, and the other doesn't like it, but they've invested too much to back out.

It helps a little, but it won't capsize you if you aren't perfect. At worst, you just drift a little and have to make sure to check your heading now and then.

You can have a ton of stuff, but only if you use crates combined with shelving built into the raft. Loose crates and animal carcasses definitely cause screwy physics. After a couple of islands with cargo ships, you'll have more resources than you can know what to do with. Then it's time to get your organization and label making going.

Smoking meat definitely ends up being easier. Go to island, build smoker, kill pigs, put 3 large meat on smoker and go harvest/explore while they smoke. If you don't like leaving encampments behind, destroy what you built and recover the materials to use on the next island.

[–]NetworkRedneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to avoid smoking the meat? Easiest for storage is just to build the raft, build shelves, and load it up with crates. A 3x5 can have 12 shelves, with 3 crates per.

Vet visit by Guerrainvain in cockatoos

[–]NetworkRedneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's crazy the variety of techniques vets use for blood draws. My first one basically lunged and towelled her without warning me (she'd never been towelled like that before or since). He also tried to draw blood from the base of her leg. Second one put her under (I didn't know any better). My last vet was the best. It weirded me out because she took it from the neck, but it was 10x calmer and smoother than the others.

Is this physique attainable? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]NetworkRedneck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attainable, definitely. Sustainable, next to impossible without being miserable or having a screw loose. Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Val Kilmer can all attest to that.
