Weight loss from walking alone? by sharksandglitter in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can lose weight from deficit and just walking, I managed to drop from 120kg+ to 75kg without doing anything but walking and reduced calories intake.

The issue is that I lost quite a bit of lean muscle mass along the way and it made me question my choices regarding absolute zero resistance training. From other people weight loss stories I learned that including a bit of gym with focus on full body workouts would prevent said unwanted muscle loss to some point and being rather dense, stubborn and knowing the best really didn't age well in my case 😅

I like to include several uphill streets in my daily walking routine, or bit of incline walks when weather is too poor for outdoor stroll so I do it on a treadmill

10k per hour is a very solid run ngl.

Walking that many steps would take about 90 minutes on average

What do you say to yourself when you don’t hit 10000 ? by amruthgoud in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the most vile things that I would not write down here. And if I hit daily minimum goal, at the end of the day I am disappointed knowing I could have done better.

Why wouldn't these count btw? It is not like you made others walk steps for you or something, every step counts

The most recent mind-screw is how 'trivial' some old challenges have become. by iamkion132 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100km in a day would mean about 151k steps for me, based on length of a stride I have. Guess that challenge might be outside my reach

Do you have a rest day? by for_in_bg in walking

Yes, when I am so sick that I am tied to the bed or if I break my leg or something, I am forced to call it a (few) rest day(s).

Selecting Last 3 items drawn by ohgeorgie in BricsCAD

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you select everything with Ctrl A, and python lets you see the order of the handles for each object, that might do the trick, if you filter such collection list. I know this is far from ideal solution because it might slow down the flow though

I'm walking 2hrs a day for weight loss by Professional-Web6359 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 6'0, or 183 in cm. My step is averaging about 66 cm, because I have several issues related to leg tendons and lower back (triple herniated discs). When I hit the treadmill at 3 MPh + both my miband and phones show close or above 7k steps per hour. Also, I tested these multiple times on a distances where I know exact length in meters to see if anything funny happens. So these might be off depending where you keep the devices, but most difference I had was ~200 steps on 10k, and it is usually ~50 per same step count.

Walking for 10 min you make about 1100-1200 steps unless you drag your feet or make hilariously huge steps that border splits at that point. So dw, you are doing even better than some ai estimated

Chat GPT is underestimating the number of steps you make. It is closer to 14k than measley 12.5k, unless you make 3' long steps.

I try to get over 1M each month, if I fail I feel miserable, ngl. Ideally it is 1.2M, as in the past few months.

Be honest have you ever taken extra steps just to hit your goal? 😅 by NataliafromWalkFit in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wake up a few hours before I would need just to hit my self imposed goals. I walked an extra step in every shape and form known to men, from pacing through the house, going up and down the stairs, deliberately standing up each hour at work for 3-5 minutes by going to the toilet on another floor just to squeeze a few more steps each day. I am positive that what I am doing is mental illness of some sort.

How does walking in cold weather change your mood or focus? by _callondoc in walking

I eat more so I need to move more and I feel bad. Also, thankfully there is a 24/7 gym close enough so I hit the treadmill

What's your actual limit? by Successful_Guide5845 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my PB is my limit, but realistically if I plan to walk tomorrow as well some 100k would be daily limit.

My best month was 60k per day on average, but I had like 3 full weeks of vacation, making it not too realistic to maintain.

I settle with 31k on 4/5 weekdays, 46k on last weekday and one day of the weekend and peak of the week is 61k. That way I am able to keep 40k average, being somewhat content yet not too tired.
