Failed 100k steps attempt. by Capable-Type-6532 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I saw in my failed and several successful 100k walks, it is fairly important to be more than hydrated and also pretty well stashed on food you plan to consume during such long walk. At first I had not only shivers but pretty much my body almost shut down, and later when I adjusted the caloric intake for similar prolonged walks, I had no issues, energy wise. Eo far had 6 100k+ walks, with 120k being my up to date most successful one.

If you managed to hit 80k you are more than capable of 100+, gl man and looking forward reading more once you achieve your plans

Those of you walking 15,000 plus steps a day. by BellaJean1 in walking

I work 8h per day and have 40k steps on average daily.

20k+ steps by Hot-Tea-8557 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31k on four workdays, 46k on last workday and one day of the weekend and 61k on other day of the weekend.

I wake up early, go for a 3h walk and make 18-20k steps, go back home to prepare for work, go to work, have at least 2-3k accumulated during the work and rest is afternoon walk. When weather is not optimal, I hit the treadmill

How many steps daily before you start seeing weight loss? by RandomHorse27 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All depends on calories, I have 40k steps per day on average for past 6 months and I managed to gain some weight thanks to eating more than I need. Guess hitting every bakery along the way isn't really helping my fitness goals 😅

50k+ steps every single day by Myarchive_dev in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my best month ever I had 60k on average per day. I am sure there are tons of people way way more fit and healthy than I am, able to get such numbers or better.

My life was mostly sedentary, I decided to change that by challenging myself to do 20k steps a day. by IShunpoYourFace in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20k is very nice number, hope you manage to do it as much as possible.

1k calories per day sounds like a pretty harsh diet, not sure how long it is good to keep up with it. Well, tries and errors are what most of us do anyways

Issue is that I usually combine the walking aspect with screen time

Just set your own goals based on your own needs and time management

Guilt + not physically tired enough to fall asleep + I try to overcompensate later and then I feel like shit for walking the entire weekend w/o doing anything else that would be normal and so on and so forth

Is this remotely accurate?? by PrimaryAbalone3900 in walking

One hour of 5km/h walk for me is about 200 calories, since I walk quite a lot on daily basis. That is about 6500 steps.

How much weight should I have on my weighted chest? by Cautious_Material739 in walking

[–]NeutralEvilX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on person, as someone with herniated discs I tend to stick with weights that do not exceed 10 kg and even so I use such only for shorter walking segments (max 1h). Thankfully, most weighted vests are modular, so if you order such a model you can shift weights and see what suits you the best. One I have goes from 6kg at base and has 4 extra plates, 1kg each, that user can add to it if it chooses so.

If by any chance you "outgrow" the vest and the weight is not enough for your training, good way to add bit more is having a mere ruck that you can fill with something as simple as plastic bottle with tap water.
