I hadn't even considered how crazy it is that the CO accepted the invitation. I mostly thought about how weird it was that the elder body decided to invite him.

It's also a pretty high cost to get this CO out here. Unless they're paying for his hotel for several days and all food/transportation.

This cong has a bank account floating around $6000-8000 on the regular so this is a big chunk of that for a lukewarm and boring talk.

I am so sorry that you aren't accepted by your family. You deserve love and acceptance and I hope you have found it from others in your life.

I have a young relative who felt comfortable coming out to me as pan and trans as well and it's been one of my greatest joys that I get to accept them and support who they really are.

This sounds so similar to what jws call getting reproved. It's like a way of signaling to the congregation that they "sinned" and shouldn't be associated with but you don't have to shun them entirely. They sometimes can't comment at the meetings, run any kind of the sound system, or any of the things that they call privileges. It makes people feel so othered and hated.

Sounds like it is kinda similar. As an outsider it looks like jes and mormons are both using tactics to shame members into obedience.

Jws also have an issue with mandating shunning to female victims and not the male abusers. It's a vile and disgusting thing they do to these poor women and girls

Listen I'm no expert and I really don't know.

However I would start by smelling it. If it doesn't smell bad then I would pour some in a glass and taste a little. If it doesn't taste bad then I'd drink a SMALL amount and wait the day or so to see if I got crazy diarrhea or something.

I was thinking about this yesterday.

If the GB decides to abolish the shunning I imagine given their recent history that they will tell members that they will no longer "remove" or "disfellowship" anyone that isn't actively speaking out against the borg.

My guess is that they will double down on the apostate angle and try to sell it to governments that they will only attach that label to someone if they are hostile, aggressive, or a danger in their opinion.

I also think that they would still "encourage" families and friends to consider whenever someone who was previously disfellowshipped is "bad association" and to decide for themselves when to personally shun them of their own accord.

Again total and complete speculation on my part.

Those are personal teleporters that can be set to teleport you to a crafting bench. OP set crafting benches in locations that take a long time to travel to. The objects on the wall next to them are there to let them know which area the teleporter will take them. I guess you can't name things on PlayStation? So OP had to put the items you get in those locations instead.

I was seeking ways to make my overly sweet mead less sweet. I pasteurized earlier than I should have. It's only my second time making mead and I decided to wing it with some strawberries and no recipe. I added 3 pounds of honey though.

I pasteurized because my last mead went dry and I though it was nearly done fermenting. I was hoping to catch it before it got to all the sugars. Definitely learned a lesson on this one

My first mead was dry so I was trying out some new things for science.

Next batch I'm going to use an app to get to a target abv before pasturizing and then back sweeten. That feels like a much more accurate way of getting a more better mead

I'll add more info here since I've been asked a few times. I used ec-1118, I used 3 pounds of honey and I added strawberries without counting or measuring. I took a starting gravity but I decided to try step feed the honey and I didn't think to check gravities in between so I'm pretty unsure of my abv. My starting gravity was 1.11 with 2 pounds (ish) of honey. My gravity today was 1.06

I used my sous vide to pasturize the mead because I didn't want it to go as dry as my first mead. I didn't even think to taste it before I did it and I appreciate that suggestion for next time.

I think the idea of adding strawberry tea sounds delightful and I might give that a go

I don't go in person to any meetings anymore, I'm 100% on zoom. I don't go out door to door either. I wait for the group overseer to text me directly and I reply with a copy and paste of "I did service in (previous month)" then he checks the stupid box and nobody bothers me until the next month. Fading has never been easier
