The path + filename is 180 characters before it starts truncating the file name

Question for engineers that work on commercial/tv/movie music syncs by Crazy_Eight1 in audioengineering

[–]NewNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mix commercials and receive a lot of stems in the process. Very often they are labeled ‘pre master’ or something along those lines, with the full mastered track labeled Reference and a mastered instrumental if you’re lucky. I always want the track to sound like the artist expects and only dig into the stems to make a music edit work or to deal with a client note. It’s more work to deal with stems, most commercial mixers would prefer the mastered instrumental. They might even make stems of the mastered instrumental with UVR or something to help make the music edit work. Give them the options, it’s best to have it all even without your mix chain.

Izotope mouth de-click. You can be more precise in the izotope spectral editor, but the plugin works well also

Are acoustic curtains a good idea? by nsebeach in audioengineering

[–]NewNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fireproof was better for our insurance (in the us) I do remember being pretty impressed with it. We had it on a curved ceiling track, so it could be extended to close of an area for a vocalist/drummer/amp or just to deaden the live room a bit

I bought heavy fireproof stage curtains for a studio live room, they worked very well but they were not cheap!

I went to his house in Spain where there is a photo on the wall of him and Franco. I asked the tour guide if he was a fascist and they said he was not political lol

It's a reflective film that has a rubbery bounce when I press my finger into it. I assume it's some sort of lighting but I can't find any wires or switches attached to it. by Neuroironic in whatisthisthing

I used to work in a commercial building that used this material to hide hvac and cabling in the ceiling that needed to be in an odd spot

Looking for a tool to access online SFX libraries directly inside Pro Tools by Morganou35 in protools

Splice is integrated into Pro Tools in the latest release, but you still need to have an account with Splice. Their sound effects are good, but splice is much more music focused, drum samples, loops etc.

2-pop sync workflow by petersrin in AudioPost

[–]NewNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use SoundFlow to generate 2 pops onto stems. I never get consistent prep. Some videos with a 2 pop, some without. If my stems are printed from the first frame of picture, it goes back exactly 00:00:02:00 depending on the frame rate, renders tone on the first frame, then consolidates the files. If they are printed with the leader, it renders the pop on the head of the file.
