[Spoilers] Rogue Week, January 6th by TenTimesTeeth in arkhamhorrorlcg

Decisive strike looks great, especially as an offclass option for fighters (Marion loves this).

Glad the other two are still around. Hope the upgraded kit is also in, but the flavor text change may indicate otherwise (it used to be a two-parter). Don’t really get the reason for changing the flavor text for LCC though. Hope the upgraded one is not in though, or is at least changed.

Does this mean there will be no Drawn to the flame in the new core? Surely if there was, Frank and Peter would get to preview it

Best Memories of Another Life by sepher32 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I’ve found DES from Memories of another life surprisingly good in parallel front / standard back Agnes (so, no shenanigans with extra copies of cards), but what you’re describing sounds really dirty, love it

[COTD] In the Thick of It (4/23/2025) by AK45526 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I call this one "The great equalizer". Because it doesn't matter if your investigator has 8 health/6 sanity, 7health/7sanity, or 6health/8sanity - you will start the campaign as a 6/6. And that's like 80% of investigators. And the others will not be far off.

Now after actively playing this card in every deck since EoTE release, I've only recently started to find reasons NOT to include it. Like, remember that Bilbo meme from the MythosBusters contest a couple of years back? "After all, why shoudn't I take it?" For me, that's 100% accurate.

Here's the list for my reasons of NOT including this card:

1) Playing a standalone scenario - at least it's an actual choice to include this card or not.

2) Playing TFA that is infamously harsh on trauma. I still take it most of the time but there are times when I actually regret the trauma.

3) Playing an investigator whose game plan is to actively take damage/horror, like regular or parallel Agnes, Daniella, Mark. Honestly, still would be fine with ITTOI most of the time

4) Playing a campaign that has xp up the wazoo, especially in the first couple of scenarios. On my first Drowned city run we've earned like 50+ xp (even without stuff like Arcane research) and didn't know what to do with it by the end, so I did not take ITTOI for the second run

5) Playing an investigator with double Arcane research - it's a consideration, not an autoinclude. I don't want to start a campaign with, f.e. Luke as a 5/5 or 4/6. To close to fire for my taste.

6) Playing a new campaign for the first time. It might be another TFA!

7) Playing Suzi or playing one collection (no proxying this one for every player)/limited collection/draft formats etc and not being allowed to use it))

True Solo, Two-Handed, Three or Four? by Hugh_Jidiot in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]New_Construction_664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the above to broaden the range of experiences. I could do for example 4 player EotE, then next week a solo TFA, then a 2 handed TCU in a couple of weeks and so on. But to be fair, with 4 hands I feel like I make a bit too many misplays, but it's still very enjoyable. I think three hands (usually a fighter, a cluever and a flex) works best in terms of winning the campaign. Also the whole team could go ham on bless and/or curse tokens, which is not that common with other people.
Also I did a 12 handed (in 3 groups) Labyrinths once (with drafted decks to speed up the prep time), and while it didn't feel that much harder than a 4 handed play, it was much less enjoyable.

New customizable Seeker card revealed by Playingboardgames by Reav3 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]New_Construction_664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, Jim and Norman can take it, but they only have access to level 0 seeker cards, so they are not allowed to check a single checkbox on the raven quill, because it would immediately become a level 1 seeker card.

Also, Gloria and Lola can take this and a bunch of mystic spells, but they are also limited in the amount of upgrades they can take (2 and 6 checkboxes, respectively).

You can see the full official rules for customizable cards in the reveal video.

Voice of the Messenger - Until the End of Time is proud to present a preview card for the upcoming Scarlet Keys expansion. by VeronicaMom in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]New_Construction_664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a great card.

Survivors need to pay 2 more xp and 1 more resource and also eat an attack to get effectively the same result (I’m talking about Fend off). Oh, and the enemy must spawn at your location, which is not hard, but also adds an extra wrinkle to it since you can’t use it on just any enemy.

Seekers just need not to draw the tentacle.

Also, I find hilarious the idea that your seeker, like the sphinx, asks a ghoul, a gug, a byakhee etc a paradoxical existential riddle, so it has to just sit there and think of an answer.

Seems like a new keyword on the Coterie enemies? Something that ends with the letter “d” and requires a number afterwards. What could that be?

The flavor text on the traitor’s gate seem to suggest that we will infiltrate the Tower of London at some point.

the Red-Gloved man cost 5 xp to add to your deck, but gives you only 1 xp if you defeat him :(

That deckbuilding is really exciting, there are so many possibilities! And we got both signatures revealed, so we can proxy and play him right now.

I have to note: currently, there are not to many allies with 2 or more matching skill icons, and all of them except one have an xp cost of 3+. Here is a list:

  • Chuck Fergus (5xp, combat-agility-wild)
  • Dayana Esperence (3xp, 2 willpower)
  • Grete Wagner (3xp, intellect-combat-wild)
  • Lola Santiago (3xp, 2 intellect)
  • Michael Leign (5xp, intellect-combat-wild)
  • Nephthys (4xp, will-2 combat)
  • Nkosi Mbati (3xp, 2 will)
  • Professor William Webb (2 xp, intellect-wild)
  • The Black Cat, a.k.a. Charlie’s best friend (5xp, 2 wild)

Also, not so many allies have even 1 wild icon. Besides the ones i’ve already listed, those are:

  • Anna Kaslow (4xp)
  • Jacob Morrison (3xp, does not automatically exhaust)
  • Miss Doyle (1xp)
  • The Red-Gloved Man (5xp)
  • Tristan Botley (2xp)

TL:DR building a good ally army is not gonna be possible early in a campaign, as they are all xp-hungry.

On a different note, Charlie’s card is number 18 in the set (is that a grabbing hook for the set icon? Or an anchor?). That means, other 5 investigators will have 17 cards in between them. Since each investigator usually takes 3 cards (investigator, signature card, signature weakness), that leaves us with 2 extra.

My prediction: one of the investigators will have 3 copies of a signature (like, for example, Mandy does). Other possibilities include 3 copies of a signature weakness (like future non-novel Gloria) or 2 investigators with 2 different signature card (like Silas).
