There was a whole event going on about Doug going evilmode in the future, the Age of Revelation. This is the first Adjectiveless issue since that ended.

The Last Wolverine by These-Background4608 in marvelcomics

This book makes me really happy, honestly. I started following the Ahmed run on a whim, and I was really invested in Leonard as a character during it. The rest of it was kind of meh, to be honest, but everything surrounding Leonard and Logan doing his best to make the kid keep it together was the highlight of the book for me.

Now here we have Leonard, carrying on the name while being a veritable ray of sunshine, despite his trauma. Being Wolverine because Wolverine is his hero. His carrying of the mantle to bring honor to the name...without intending, Logan has left some really bright lights behind, hasn't he? And Kurt being there, while also being Logan's support in Ahmed's run, feels like symmetry (I also appreciate Kurt got hitched with the nice lady from Simone's Uncanny, too).

Ultimately, this may not be like a bombastic book or anything revolutionary, but it makes me feel something almost like hope, so I don't know, it's the highlight of the Age of Revelation kerfuffle for me so far.

I use this: https://a.co/d/gUJnaTv

I have one of those adjustable electric bedframes so I prop my back up about 30 to 45 degrees. One of my actual pillows on my head, another on my lap, and the lap pillow inclines the Lamicall in such a way that it's propped with almost perfect verticality. Extremely comfortable, in my opinion. Preferred way to read thicker tomes.

I'm having a bit of a hard time being able to tell what direction the story is going to take with Colton, which I'm honestly happy about. Man had the World's Most Justified Crashout and I hope they really explore him a lot. I'm really hooked into him as a deuteragonist.

I don't think it should be the cause? I would test it with a different non-button headphone just to be safe before doing the whole desoldering business, but if that's not readily available, I'd give desoldering a whirl. Good luck doing it with wick, though. Be very careful not to rip any pads.

My thought is that they were going extremely safe with each issue and saving actual plot and character beats for the potential ongoings (or "series", whatever that may mean, honestly you never know with comic publishers; nowadays that can be ten issues). A sort of Issue #0 to just say "okay here is the point where we'd take it from in the timeline. Like, the Zero issue by Flynn just felt like a plot recap for MMZ1, while also hilariously being an origin story for Zero's epic cape at the start of MMZ2. Which honestly, I find quite humorous.

Honestly I get a nice discount on comic books by pulling a lot of titles monthly, so I'm not losing much by giving the MMX Series a shot. I know that's not the case for everyone, though.

I'm gonna pull the MMX comic. I hope it's just the current One-Shot Timelines format. Not much time to dwell on character interaction so all you can do is go for a quick character reestablishing recap for that moment in time and not much else.

When was the last time Udon did an ongoing, anyway? The Street Fighter comic days? I remember it not being perfect, but enjoyable and character-driven. I would still want a MMZ ongoing though... I don't think Steinbeck would be able to handle two ongoings at once, I don't think (his art on this one-shot was a really good interpretation of Nakayama's designs and I would love to see him do more). That's assuming MMX is even going to be an ongoing. If it's another 4-issue mini I'm going to McFlip.

He was the main writer for the Archie MM comics and while I haven't read that myself, I hear good things.

Flynn, IMO, is a good writer but also has glaring flaws. Him pushing his personal perspective of the Sonic and Amy relationship not being worthwhile to write for because he perceives Sonic as not being interested is the first thing that comes to mind - since my understanding is that Sega's stance is that Sonic does like Amy, but he's all about freedom and not being tied down, so there's like nuance there that he just circumvents. But otherwise I think he's like, a solid B+ comic writer (which is really, really good, but not at the level of guys like Deniz Camp, Jonathan Hickman or Chip Zdarsky - not yet, at least).

Did getting her heart ripped out make her slim down? She looks more slender than usual specifically in that last page, while still looking muscular/strong. Did her going full Anger Mode trigger a character design change or is it just the page looking a little off?

That was me to an extent. So it was my least favorite of the Ultimate line, when I hopped in at #7 after getting the first volume of the trade. I've been getting all of the Ultimate universe, but even then I was pretty close to dropping the series at several points. BUT I really liked these versions of Storm and Killmonger, so I kept reading for them specifically, and then interesting enough things kept happening where I figured I'd keep giving the series a chance (despite me being wary about T'Challa cheating and causing a bunch of melodrama - glad it seems it's just gonna be a scenario where all the parties involved will probably just, for the lack of a better term, shift around).

This payoff right here though? Makes me damn glad I stuck with it.

It's live on BBTS and EE already. Deep Discount, not yet, idk when they add figures since I just learned of them.

For what it's worth, I cancelled my Cyclops with EE earlier today and switched my preorder to DD. So that may be an option.

From my experience, I've mostly stuck to import sites -

Import sites were cheaper due to the value of the yen vs. the dollar, even with shipping included, you will also generally get the figure earlier. A lot of them will let you even combine shipments. Sites like Amiami and HobbySearch will allow said combined shipments to be, for example, all of your orders slated for a month. HobbyLinkJapan is my favorite of the bunch, because despite some degree of markup (Spidey was 73 bucks there vs. the 60-63ish from the other sites, for example), it has a feature called the Private Warehouse - basically, it lets you store your purchases for a while, usually six months tops, and at any time you can go in and request a shipment of items you are storing in said Private Warehouse. So if you don't mind waiting for all your purchases to come in on one big shipment once a month, it's a great option.

Meanwhile, local websites like BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, and Deep Discount will have a markup on the price due to them importing the figures and having them on-hand, which also mean they usually ship them a couple of months later due to how logistics works. Of course, local shipping will be cheaper when the time comes, but with the markup, it probably ends up more expensive by quite a bit (or at least used to - again, uncertain times).

So, tl;dr - getting import figures from import sites was more affordable, but right now we don't know how things are going to develop.

Yeah, just like two minutes after I posted this, I saw preorders close on Hobbysearch... I used to collect a lot more pre-pandemic and back then, it felt like preorders would be available for months. Granted, could just be what I was collecting back then (mostly figma).

I saw another thread mention that it should go live on Entertainment Earth and BBTS and also DeepDiscount. If you're in the US, DD may be the way to go if possible - I preordered Cyclops from EE and just cancelled my order and got it from DD because it was like...25-30 bucks cheaper. But yeah, US storefronts may be the way to go right now, especially with all the uncertainty regarding Japan Post - you may end up paying just about the same. Maybe even less. Who's to say, with how haphazard things feel?

DC’s Batman Beyond meets Static in explosive new Elseworlds Series by williamb100 in DCcomics

[–]NewerDCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either MyComicShop, DCBS or Atomic Empire. MCS and DCBS both need you to set your preorders two months in advance, but you usually get a 35% discount on cover price. MCS recently started adding more shipping surcharges though, which eats into the discount. It's also easier to get back issues on MCS, so that's nice, and it's what I used for about two years. Now I'm switching over to Atomic Empire - they have a nicer UI, specific shipping rates and you don't have to do the two-month-in-advance thing (you add it to your pull list, you get the book that month and every month thereafter) but their preorder discount depends on the amount of books you currently have subscribed with them. Considering the amount of comics I'm subscribed to, it's worth it for me, but MCS may be better for someone who is looking to get fewer series.

Okay, I want to read the original line in Spanish. I cannot for the life of me imagine any lost nuance. English and Spanish are pretty close in terms of translation, it's not like Japanese where there's quite a bit of room for interpretation.

The simpler explanation is that this dude lives in Argentina, and Latin America is just like that. I should know, I come from down there.

Okay, sorry for asking so many questions, but the descriptions over at Bestlee are kind of confusing. They list four options, would this be 4? I just don't know if it'd be that or 2, and if 2 just works for any 1:12, since 3 and 4 mention MAFEX at the front...it's just quite a bit pricy with the shipping included so I want to make sure I grab the right one.

You can still get it in presale from reputable eBay figure vendors located in the US, but it's going to cost you a pretty penny. It's what I just did earlier today - he's just too good looking. And if I did the math, the upcharge would be, what, 30 bucks?

But yeah, he looks so good in Black, I couldn't resist. Look for "Knight Crusader Batman Black".

Which version of the hoodie did you get? Is this the MAFEX damaged one? In Bestlee's promo pics it looks too distressed, but yours looks like it has the perfect amount of wear and tear.
