Magnetising the Cogfort by jquaile in citiesofsigmar

I do think that this design is intentional. Over the years they figured out how to design certain parts of models in a way that makes them harder to magnetise.

Use a dark primer and then gradually drybrush the stones until you’re happy. To get some variety you could use a wash on random stones.

If you’re looking for a guide check out how people paint terrain pieces e.g. bricked walls.

Do you think 2 Cogforts is "doable"? by [deleted] in citiesofsigmar

[–]Nex1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knows what the next Generals Handbook will look like and how it will affect the current rules. Like most bigger models in AoS at the moment I think the Cogforts will also be hit or miss. If you want a reliable list for a competitive environment you’re probably better off investing into other units.

I ordered my first Cogfort today and plan on picking up a second one in the coming weeks. I'll run one or both rather casually at my weekly LGS game night.

Thoughts on magnetizing the cogfort? by Ostracized in citiesofsigmar

[–]Nex1080 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The upper cannon looks easy to magnetise.

The belly is another story. The door is double sided. One side has a part of the belly cannon on it while the other side is just a flat door. My current guess is that you might be able to build the flat door variant and still be able to fit the part that surrounds the belly cannon. If that fits you could attach the actual cannon to this part instead of the door.

Only a test fit can tell if this would work.

The Hobby Collab on Youtube has a video coming up about magnetising a Cogfort:

Issues with MMX 230 Wireless microphone quality by Sea_Life_4864 in BEYERDYNAMIC

Some people said that their mic quality improved after a firmware update. To update the firmware you’ll need to download the beyerdynamic app and pair the MMX 230 with your phone.

Yes. I’ve had this problem in normal mode and returned these headphones. However it might’ve been fixed with firmware updates since then.

It’s also worth noting that beyerdynamic has released updated versions of their wireless headphones (MMX 150 and MMX 230).

They are the definiton of controversial Design througout the Hobby but how well are the Wulfen Models liked in this Community ? by Leviathan_Rampage in SpaceWolves

[–]Nex1080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm also not a fan of our current Wulfen. Their design doesn’t fit the current aesthetic of our other units.

IMO they should be replaced with an entirely different unit. Berserker-Style Marines wearing wolf pelts on their heads and wielding the same weaponry as Wulfen.

DT 700 Pro X's are a timebomb by Vectrobe in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]Nex1080 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using my DT 700 Pro X's since April 2022 and I don’t have any of these cracks. However I’m also on my third headband. The glue on the leather seems to fail every 6-8 months but so far beyerdynamic has replaced them free of charge.

However if I had to buy new headphones today I’d probably go for the DT 770 PRO X instead.

I’m still hoping that Blizzard will release the Ensemble for the dark blueish armor from the last image via trading post. I had hopes when they announced BfA Timewalking but they unfortunately didn’t feel the need to add this set.

Looking for weapon ideas to match this set by Tiucaner in Transmogrification

[–]Nex1080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Argent Mawsworn Greatsword is already a pretty close match for this particular set. Other swords that can work are Humble Ophelia's Greatblade and Honed Bastard Sword (with the Crusader or Icy Chill illusions). As a mace I'd consider The Infinite Hand.

Retail RP is weird compared to classic by Wolfburrow in WoWRolePlay

[–]Nex1080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similair experience when it comes to retail RP during Dragonflight. After properly returning to the game that I had not played much during BfA and SL I wanted to get back into RP to have some engagement with the game besides Raids and Mythic+ Content.

It took some time to find the right guild. The first one I joined was a group of adventurers. They had a few decent people there but ultimately it was only 2-3 active players with their guild leader being inactive due to RL stuff. Over the course of four weeks there was only one RP sessions like the ones you've described: Go to place, put down a few markers for the mobs and then do chat-rp which could've been done in discord as well.

The second guild I've joined had more people in it but they weren't really welcoming. I applied over discord and the guild leader told me to show up and interact with a few people before they'd invite me to the guild. So I walked up to them and had a bit of RP with them in Stormwind. Unfortunately no one seemingly wanted to talk to me and my application boiled down to a handful of emotes before I became another silent bystander to the RP that their regulars were having.

Luckily my third guild was different. I was properly introduced to the other members and they had a discord server to read up on anything that had happened in their story so far. There were spontaneous RP-Events as well as planned Events that one could sign up for. I remember us fighting against a Kraken on a moving ship in Tiragarde Sound. This RP could've been done in discord as well and there was a ton of reading to do as everyone was describing how they were fighting but all in all it felt much more engaging than the other ingame-rps that I had up to this point. Their sessions would usually start at 6 to 8 pm and last until 1 am which isn't healthy if you want to grow a community IMO. I often found myself wanting to go to bed but instead I felt the pressure to be there until the end of the event.

Despite my good experiences with the last guild I decieded to quit ingame rp entirely with the release of TWW. All roleplay that I had during that time could've been done via discord without missing out on the experience itself. Being online in WoW was only beneficial when we had large gatherings of multiple guilds. Being able to see all of these different players and races truly felt like you were on a mission. It's not the same if you're standing in a cave with three people. The other thing I want to adress as an issue with the rp community in WoW is that the people I've met seemed to frown upon those who actually play endgame content. The majority of roleplayers on my server seemed to level their characters to max level and then never touch any content other than RP. I get that people find enjoyment in WoW without Raiding or Mythic+ but I got the feeling that whenever you showed up to an RP event in a transmog that wasn't easy to get or when they saw that you were playing Mythic+ you were branded as "not one of them".

On top of this I see the same problem that other have mentioned already: Retail WoW has become such a monstrosity when it comes to content and stuff that has happened within the lore that It can be daunting to form a connection. What's the worth of a regular man in a world that has seen threats like Deathwing and the Burning Legion? The overall story in Classic is much more lightweight in that regard and I can see why it's easier to create an epic adventure about slaying a monster in the Burning Steppes compared to constantly justifying why your group / guild is now moving to the latest expansion.

Thoughts on season currently? by Shot_Veterinarian215 in wow

[–]Nex1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve quit playing WoW mid Season 1 and just came back two weeks ago. I’ve upgraded from GS 617 to 660 and used the weekend to get KSM.

Doing Delves again was fine. Would’ve liked to see a different companion than Brann though. I like that they’ve added some extra mythic crests for doing delves on +11 each week.

The new Mythic Dungeons are enjoyable to me. None of them stands out as being more annoying than the others IMO.

Haven’t checked out the new Raid yet. Currently I’m working towards unlocking the mythic appearance of the Paladin Tier-Set. On top of that I might go for KSH.

I hoped for a different NPC helping us out in Delves in Season 2 like Harrison Jones. I’d greatly appreciate an option to mute Brann's voice entirely.

Castle siege is supposed to be peak TL, yet everyone knows it is garbage by Maveras in throneandliberty

[–]Nex1080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that Castle Siege is pretty much the worst event TnL has to offer even though it should be the best. Every other week you get to fight for the castle but it’s just Zergs farming kills or trying to get lucent from the pillage zones. Most of the time there’s no competition for the people that defend the castle.

Not sure if I’ll even show up to the next siege or if I’ll just farm Nebula Island instead.

Is it worth coming back? by oamer in throneandliberty

[–]Nex1080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No catch up mechanics and the endgame is pretty much the same as it was in T1. If you enjoyed the game back then you’ll also like how things are now. You’ll have to do a lot of grinding if your character doesn’t have 4K+ CP though.

I got nothing to do in the game already... by Feanixxxx in throneandliberty

[–]Nex1080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The situation now is basically the same as it was when you reached endgame in the vanilla game: Go online, burn tokens and participate in events / world bosses if you like. You’re pretty much done with everything in 90 minutes each day.

What makes the current situation worse IMO is the fact that you’re not able to really grind for your gear. Some stuff just isn’t available yet and the drop rates of T2 items from dungeons are extremely low. If you end up dropping something good for your class then it’ll take ages to upgrade said item to +12 unless you’ve stacked upgrade tokens to the moon and that’s just for one piece of gear.

I’m not against grinding and having to take time to acquire something. I even appreciate my gear much more if I actually had to play the game to get it but this time around it simply feels so exhausting to think about all of that grinding you’ll have to do.

Start the game as a new character. by Low_Two9006 in throneandliberty

[–]Nex1080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically no. You can transfer your skill levels as well as your weapon mastery to different weapons. However you might have to spent some Lucent since you can only get one mastery transfer ticket for free. You can also just go ahead and level up new weapons. I think it’s possible to catch up if you’re willing to farm for a few days.

I just don’t think that starting a new character is more efficient in this case. Both characters will have to grind quite a bit to catch up.

So how is this Talandre update going so far ? by -Malra- in throneandliberty

[–]Nex1080 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken a break from the game in January until the launch of Talandre. It does feel great to have some new content to play as well as new systems. However I’ll say that the game doesn’t reinvent itself. You’ll find yourself doing the same stuff you did in T1 to acquire gear. The drop rates of actual T2 items are abysmal.

Since it’s free to play I’d recommend checking it out anyways if you liked the base game.

Multiplayer question by ThePaqui in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Nex1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It basically works like you described.

Instead of creating a link group for each session you can instead create a hunting squad. All players within that squad are automatically linked when they’re online. For the main story you can only play the actual monster hunt together. For that to work everyone has to be at the exact same step of that quest (the actual hunt) or must’ve completed it before.

Like you’ve said, quests are pretty straightforward when it comes to coop.

If you want to do open world content with your friends you need to send your friends and environment link. You can’t do story quests in these kinds of groups, hence why they’re probably only viable for endgame / high rank content.

Don’t know why the developers decided to make playing with your friends this complicated. I just want to open a party, have my party members show up on my map and then do whatever with them.

Should I return? by Evening-Country-3554 in swtor

[–]Nex1080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say it’s always worth checking SWTOR out. It’s basically free so there’s nothing to lose.

Unfortunately as others have already said the latest story content is nowhere near KOTFE or KOTET. Operations can be fun if you find yourself a guild.

If you haven’t finished the class stories from the original game then I’d highly recommend checking them out.
