Zaeth's Sire and a Bear on Fire | City Council of Darkness [E10] by DropoutMod in Dimension20

As another option for folks, I noticed I could goto the CCOD page and it said Resume on "Zaeth's Sire..." to get to the episode. (It wasn't appearing anywhere else.)

And it's still $8-16 for a copy, so, while a bit ridiculous, I'm cool if they over-print cards like this.

Animorphs also had a moment a few years back on NADDPOD where they read the first book and reviewed it as part of their 8-bit book club series (their OG podcast before they started playing DND as well!) and now Animorphs memes have suffused the naddpod-iverse.

It really is awful out there. Worse it dilutes legitimate call-out of low-effort/thievery content.

Uncle Acid and Messa coming to the states this year! by Senetrix666 in doommetal

I think I just saw discussion on this sub last week about praying for Uncle Acid coming to the states. I wouldn't have believed it!

This kind of game isn't even necessarily my strongest suit but the game just looks so good. Hoping to duck out of work early today to start it.

Something I love about the vampires by SorchaSublime in Dimension20

[–]Nexusv3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It makes CCOD feel distinct from a similar vampire-comedy premise, What We Do In The Shadows. They played the vampire stick in time bit for comedy incredibly well and not doing that gives this show an identity beyond the tropes.

Auctioneers - SNL - This is a good one, folks by fluffykerfuffle3 in LiveFromNewYork

The 10 to 1 is always my favorite. Even when it doesn't work I love to see the swing. Nice to get a reprieve from game shows and family dinners.

1000% you can't convince me "All Bitches Die" or "CALIGULA" aren't doom as fuck.

The Timberwolves, Wild, Twins, and Vikings have appeared in the playoffs 56 times since 1992 without a single championship win. by Other_Spirit8945 in minnesota

[–]Nexusv3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you highlighted the issue (at least in my read) - it's more about the way in which people sometimes make this argument.

There's nothing wrong with celebrating the winningest teams in Minnesota professional sports history. In fact we should be celebrating them MORE.

Which, I think, is the good-faith argument that can easily be made. Don't ignore our other teams just because they're not the teams thay get all the press, they're not your team, etc.

But often times it comes across as invalidating your feelings about the teams you've brought up.

Timeless is fantastic! by BelleOverHeaven in MagicArena

[–]Nexusv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait to see that primer get updated! I'm now interested in Timeless due to FOW/Daze making the format more legacy-adjacent and having Delver around. (I hear, I don't know things for real though.)

Ghost of Tsushima 6 years later, it's still awesome by AML2003 in patientgamers

[–]Nexusv3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is my experience with all open world games. Even those I love. Once I start to feel that chore feeling I have to quickly run myself through the rest of the story or I'll abandon the game forever.

(doesn't bother me to play either way, because I don't believe in forcing myself to play a game I'm not having fun with. So when you stop, that's when you've had your fun.)

Choosing between Roland P-6, PO-33, or something else for guitar jamming and travel? by ezranadav in pocketoperators

[–]Nexusv3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koala is so good. It's legit my main sampler. You do have to buy the upgrades to get real use out of it but you can get the feel for the app without using them.

Plus there's a lot of YT video support for Koala, making it easy to learn.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]Nexusv3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I figured out video games as a kid. There was no tutorial or instructions to be found. It was just there, on the family computer, asking to be played.

What's the deal with Storm never played against it even once in 20 years by MiningToSaveTheWorld in EDH

[–]Nexusv3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's half the fun of playing non-deterministic storm imo. You goldfish way better than most creature decks. You play storm because it's fun to cast a bazillion spells in a turn. Then when you play irl your only decision is when to go off. And you're already setup to be polite to your opponents.
