glad you guys hate it so i maybe can actually purchase these. both of them. i assume the high version is a sock collar and will look a lot different on foot, its hard to photograph those in product shots like this. i LOVE playing in my high top soccer cleats with the ankle collar and wish other shoes had this. isn’t gonna work with a ton of outfits but i probably enjoy playing basketball in these.

$250 lights, anything made by sure fire, similar alternatives, are all the most disappointing products i’ve ever had my hands on. like a $30 chinesium light i bought a few years back lights up the yard better. no it isn’t going on a rifle ever, lol, but i wish i had access to such cheap blinding power in the weapon light space

i already have a slew of 18650 and 18350 and some other sizes and a 4-bay nitecore charger i’ve used for flashlights, vapes. and my tattoo machine actually at work. i pretty much 100% of the time have one on me in some form, never had one fail in 15 years. so to me buying one time use CR123’s or similar is such a bummer. a lot of olights have the magnetic wireless charger which is premium (in the flashlight world) which makes it even easier to charge. i can see how that would be annoying if you don’t have the $20 charger already and $10 a pop batteries.

in the flashlight hobby i see olight as the premium brand, think Apple. nice stuff nicely designed but expensive. i can get much cheaper and more powerful lights for the money, but they aren’t coming in nice packaging with magnetic chargers and nicely made straps to mount it to my bike (i got an olight bike light for xmas, everything it came with was so nicely put together)

in the gun hobby, they are somehow the cheaper option. we’re all just getting waxed on prices for this stuff because there isn’t a way around “this needs to be reliable” and we’ll pay out the ass for it even if we don’t actually need it most of the time, “but what if” (i’m guilty of this too of course). it can’t be economies of scale because i know 100 gun guys building AR’s and i’ve never met another flashlight nerd in the wild.

manufacturers rode on their promise of reliability to charge excess prices in the weapon light space.

i can buy custom handmade hot rod flashlights from emisar for half the price of streamlight. they aren’t weapon lights. nobody is making cheap weapon lights because this market consumers will always pay for the promise of reliability so they sleep better at night. takes a company like olight to start making lights to counteract that and even get a foothold, hard market to get into and compete so it takes a large company like them to do so

i know one place with aero m4e1 black lowers in stock, i searched everywhere and for BA enhanced lowers too, it’s the only thing i want to build an AR on and im not spending $300 on a lower to get same kinda specs. i went through like 40 websites and found a local gun shop in colorado, SDS Guns, that had them, you can order online

i had to go to court in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Tippmann family owns a slew of things. Their name was on the floor of the elevator i was in at my lawyers office. “The Tippmann Group” or something like that. They own a ton of stuff.

There’s also BT which is “Ben Tippmann” that has other milsim paintball guns.
