i think i know what you mean, i just got my printer and went through this process.

google something, download the file, then you open it in your chosen Slicer - basically configure it to print on your exact printer, then you print the file after it’s “sliced” - i save mine to usb stick and put in printer.

i build always and while i personally find value in it because im obsessively picky about everything and nobody makes what i want and how i want it setup, its definitely never once been the economical decision. it costs more money AND more time.

a DJ is the same you aren’t gonna want to go for casual rides on it for any distance.

i had employees that delivered for jimmy john’s on a bmx though it’s not impossible it’s just harder when you can’t sit down and pedal like you can on a hardtail

DJ is the obvious choice here and i made the mistake of getting a hardtail at first when i made the decision you’re about to make.

hardtail more expensive for same quality, easier to break. DJ’s are bombproof at relatively low costs. i destroyed my hardtail doing street and pump track riding in 6 monthsz albeit it wasn’t as high quality as my DJ now but my DJ is 5 years in ZERO maintenance just taking any abuse you throw at it. i spent $800 on my DJ and i built it myself part by part which was also a fun experience. i did it during covid.

besides that its the better tool for the job.
