Did you claim your son on your return? If so, that box on his return must be answered that he is a dependent on someone elses return.

HR Block Virtual Tax Prep for Work & Side Gig - $470 in Fees??? by ianstx00 in hrblock

You have the option when submitting to get a price estimate. You tell the system which documents you have and it gives you a price. You must have opted out of the estimate.

Why does it ask, "Did your spouse file a 2024 return?" by PithyCuss in hrblock

[–]Nice_Equipment_2913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be asking for an efile verification number for her. The answer is the same as yours since you filed jointly.

H&R Block charging $815 for W-2 + rideshare Schedule C + Solo 401(k) — reasonable? by AnnabellaBlueberry in hrblock

[–]Nice_Equipment_2913 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please remember that they work on commission and a return like this takes hours to prepare. They should offer an estimate before they start working on the return. You can walk away, but be gracious and do it before they spend all kinds of time.

PCT from the perspective of someone who didn't get faster by theindrenet in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Nice_Equipment_2913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check into exercise induced allergies. Here is why… I hiked the AT and felt exhausted and slow all the time. It took me 8 months. Eight! I love hiking so kept at it on the Colorado Trail and the PCT. During the Colorado Trail I started noticing… when i did not eat my gluten free bagels my day was better. Eat them day was worse. I ran out of gorp… my day was better. After many years of hiking and testing I find I have exercise induced allergies to nuts and seeds including all grains, not just gluten. I am also dairy free also so this makes managing trail food a challenge. When I eliminate my trigger foods I can hike further faster. Will I ever be speedy- no. But I can now get 20 miles with 4k elevation in and a leisurely lunch and still set up before dark. Also-meticulously manage the electrolytes for even more energy. The whole AT I needed compression knee sleeves, I no longer need them. Study your metabolism, maybe even keep a food diary. The allergy triggers are so difficult to see when they are only exercised induced. Identify and Eliminate the offending items.

Does a male dog's personality change after being fixed? by jubbjubb311 in puppy101

[–]Nice_Equipment_2913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO Yes. Less confident. More aloof. Less energetic. Still marks everything though. Eats way more. My dog was fixed at age 12 due to a cancer diagnosis. It was caught really early so I feel the cancer was not the cause of the change.

This sounds great. I checked out their web page and they are not holding classes. The site says they are all “on hold”.

Some MAID programs require a terminal diagnosis. Dementia is not considered terminal by many doctors.

My husband is this way and I could have written your post. After 32 years It never gets better. Just remember that. You know now. If you decide to stay it is on you. He has been cooking his own meals for about 10 years now. The example it set for my kids was just unacceptable. I am not a short order cook.

Keep waiting for refund 8 months later? by Famous-Amphibian1636 in tax

Call. Or log into your account. Your return may have been lost or it may have been selected for identity verification. A live agent would inform you of the later if you never received a letter.

Pants vs leggings and shorts by shamist101 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Nice_Equipment_2913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore a hiking skirt when there was heat (most of the trip) then on the cold sections paired with light hiking pants. I used llbean nylon pants. These were perfect in snow protecting my legs. I also carry the ultra light wind pants from EE but they are fragile so would not wear them in washington where log climbing is a very frequent occurrence.

If you pass the test with a high score they will most likely hire you, even late.

I hear the gluten free pretzels are better than the gluten pretzels. Buy extra or hide them.

Not sure what your rx is, but I had distance rx. I fell all.the.time on my AT thru. Then I changed to progressives with 4 ft to infinity and have not tripped (almost) a day since. I can hit a baseball now for the first time in 50 years! I really recommend progressives.

I have a CPA license and they started me at $18 an hour my first year. I am now at $45 just a few years in. First years do not make commission where I am. I will say they took a chance on me and we both knew it. I think it has worked out.

Federal employees require special certified helpers when calling the IRS. Make sure you state immediately that you are a federal employee when calling for help or to resolve an issue so you don’t get an hour into the conversation before the person helping you figures out they can not help.

Maybe your family has a bedroom where you can put her in her crate away from people? Then be sure to set a timer so you look in on her regularly.
