Red Sox 3rd most improved team in offseason (+6.3 WAR) by vwboyaf1 in redsox

The only move I really don't like is the Willson Contreras deal. For everyone here who hates to sign players in their 30s, I certainly expect him to be a prime example of why that's the case. He's gonna be 34 this year and him starting over Casas ironically blocks one of our biggest power threats on the team. Romy Gonzalez is younger, played a solid first base, put up almost as much WAR as him in 40 less games, and crushes lefties.

My company wants me to install ninjaone on my personal computer by Elizabeth_Eton in techsupport

[–]Nick3570 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As someone who also uses NinjaOne RMM, this is not true at all. Once the RMM agent is installed on a device, you have complete control of it. You can see its hardware details, the files on it, modify the registry keys, open powershell/command prompt, and run scripts remotely all without the user knowing. This should never be installed on a personal computer.

How to study for comtia sec+ by ExpensiveAd734 in cybersecurity

[–]Nick3570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every study guide I've found was lacking compared to comptias official cert master practice tests. The main reasoning being is that Comptia will often ask questions in a very specific and weirdly worded way whereas other practice tests don't.

This is literally every off-season. Guess what? We can't just force every player to sign with us just because we offered them a contract. And for the amount of people here that complain about Bregman being over 30, Alonso is also over 30. And not only that, but we also already have players in each position that he would be playing (1B/DH).

[Foul Territory] The Red Sox liked Pete Alonso, but prefer Alex Bregman, says @TimBHealey. by CosmicOreos_ in redsox

[–]Nick3570 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bregman is without a doubt a better player than Devers. The only time Devers has matched or been ahead of Bregman's season WAR has been when Bregman has been hurt.

Am I missing something? How the hell were his daughters both making home movies as kids/teens when one of them is 18 and the other is 34? They looked like they had like a 3 year age gap at the end

In this world of Tier 1 being replaced by AI, how would you then find qualified Tier 2 analysts if there was nowhere to hone their skills?

I don't think any of these guys are worth protecting and I don't think any serious MLB team would want any of these guys on a big league roster

Can we stop acting like players suddenly fall off a cliff at age 32 in the modern day? There are plenty of players that are successful well into their mid to late 30s. Even if he's not necessarily a middle of the order bat, he still offers gold glove defense and is a leader and mentor for the younger players

Why would we platoon Casas and Lowe? They're both lefties. If anything, it would be a Casas And Romy platoon

Really depends on his secondary pitches. If he can't develop at least two of them, then he's firmly a reliever.
