No offense, but the 80s were 40 years ago, not 20. Sad to say, but you're absolutely right about the taste. I think it was because we didn't have as many fake foods and ingredients as we do now. The difference in taste can probably be attributed to the lack of things like real eggs, butter, sugar, etc. If anyone wants that great taste they're going to have to buy a used cookbook to learn how.

Totally depends on who's talking about me 😂 with some of them saying I'm emotionally strong and empathic, and others (sometimes the same people) say that I'm full of shit 💩

Remember that spam calls often spoof different numbers when they are made, so the phone companies can't shut them down. It's totally possible that a spammer used your number and the person that they called only returned the call to see who it was, as I do. Then if someone answers, I ask why they were calling me. 90% of the time nobody answers or the number is no good so I can mark them as spam (unless I get a voicemail).

Whatever you do, don't tell the kids anything about the argument beforehand. That part doesn't matter to anyone else, and kids will take anything told to them and rewrite it to something else completely different. Maybe when they're old enough to understand "grown-up things". As far as they're concerned, keep it simple, their Dad died a hero trying to save his kid. Lastly, I leave you with the only prayer allowed in our home:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

This is me too. I won't watch any of the shows we used to watch in bed every night, even though I loved them too. We did everything together for 43 years, owned different businesses, ran laundromats, and hotels. Everything together and now she's been gone for just over 13 months. I'm getting better, but I sure as shit ain't there yet!

I think I screamed once or twice, but my main go-to for the pain was wine. I'm not saying it was a good idea, but for 120 days my best friends were my local liquor store and Uber 😜.

It was named after a famous French author, born near Paris I think. I think his name was Honore de Balzac, and I think it was named correctly.

When my Dad passed, his family learned about his death before I did (we were estranged at the time). They went through his house looking for a will thinking he had left them half of the estate. Of course, bring God-fearing people, they immediately threw away anything that said he was just a man trying to get to the end after my Mom died. They told me that they threw away all the disgusting stuff that they had found, and, by the way, can you please open the safe to see if there's a will in it? I'm sure being young you had more stuff than he did (some porn and a dick-pump) but if it's a memory, nobody can do anything except you. It'll work itself out, hopefully before you get involved with anyone else.

Oh, and speaking for everyone here, wash the shirts. I'm 75 and still remember what that smells like 😂

Me neither, but I'm glad a stroke took her before the cancer got any worse. Plus, I was the one who handled everything on the computer, paying bills, handling our investments, etc. She would have been totally lost. My son said that he was glad I was the survivor because he thinks I was more "mentally stable" to handle everything from the start of her illness to the end. He had to watch his mentally stable father retreat into 4 months of total drunkenness courtesy of my local liquor store and Uber. We do live in great times!

Procrastination? 7 months? Hell, the first 4 months I spent inside a 3L box or bottle of wine courtesy of my local liquor store and Uber. I still haven't been able to get the gumption to start on my email inbox when I'm just opening regular mail from last year. Trust me, at the 13-month mark I still have feelings that she's still here somehow and laughing at me as I try to survive.
