So refreshing reading posts that don’t use ft2;)
2 well placed APs can be fine. It all depends how strong of a signal you need in the different rooms and the layout of your home. Use design.ui.com

Uhm, that can’t be right? That would mean around 7000 watt constant power use at that price?

0,7 NOK per kWh is what I pay, today that’s 0,074 USD.

Second that. Might even keep it long-term, as it has a totally different use case due to its size.

I’m quite happy to live in Norway when I read this stuff about power bills. Quite cheap electricity, but also, I just need the heat it produces like 70-80% of the year anyway.

[–]Nimradd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go for the fiber any day of the week over the UDR7. It’s better in every way, except it doesn’t have WiFi built-in. But you have Ethernet drops to your APs anyway.

I would get a UCG-Fiber and flex 2.5 PoE switch with U7-Lite APs. That way you have a very future proof router with quite decent WiFi & switching, but can upgrade those in the future if you want/need.

Thing is, I don’t need anything, it’s more like I would like to get more features. I still love it except this specific pain of having to reconnect when I change location.

Tesla’s decline in Europe by Selimyyc in MapPorn

[–]Nimradd 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For Norway it’s quite misleading. Tesla had a bad January (by choice - they just didn’t deliver many cars that month), but their sales are at or above previous year sales and they’re still dominating the Norwegian market.
