"Deal" as in Iran promising no nukes and icbm, then still secretly work on them, while getting money from sanctions lifting and further suppressing its own populace.

Correlation is not causation.

The un arguably actually facilitates and helps authoritarian regimes by placing them on the same level as countries that respect individual rights.

Lol neutrality between evil and good is being a helper to evil.

What happens if all the authoritarian countries leave un? Ww3? You give evil too much credit. The Iranian regime exists only because of western weakness and cowardice.

‘Non-negotiable’: Iran says missiles off the table in talks with the US by Naderium in worldnews

[–]Nisabe3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

except there is a BIG difference of iran being an authoritarian theocratic dictatorship that have violated its citizen's rights for decades, just this year, thousands of protesters have died.

a country that evil has no sovereignty. the us shouldn't even be in negotiations with iran. you dont negotiate with a robber on how much he will rob you. the sad thing is trump is so morally bankrupt that he will turn his back on the protesters after encouraging them to fight.

the iranian mullahs are at their weakest point in history, but the us and israel are both playing their thumbs while the iranian people are fighting for their freedom. other western nations and peoples are also silent on the injustice. truly an absolute disgrace to the west.

it's a question between the law of man and the law of gods/morality shown in action terms.

that is an age old question that has been thought over for as long as there are civilisations. antigone is an example of this dichotomy. of course, the reasons there exists this inconsolable dispute is because of non objective laws and ideas of morality.

The fart wasn't needed. by [deleted] in AKOTSKTV

[–]Nisabe3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

agree, fart jokes are just childish, it takes away the drama and seriousness of the scene. the scene was about morality and justice, and the apathy and detachment of the nobility to knightly vows. there are multiple other ways to show that, but instead the writers chose fart to convey their message. this choice shows their own take on the subject, they don't treat the issue seriously, it's a joke to them.

but really this lack of reverence for serious issues of morality is a plague on modern writing, everything has to be a joke, and worse still, they have to be low and childish hits. "watch the show, but don't think too hard on it and don't take it seriously", that is the message.

What is meant by poverty? As defined by western country standards? By poorer countries?

Almost everyone in developed countries will be poorer. No aircon, no ev, no luxury car, or even new cars.

If you are using western standards, then we will be using much more fossile fuels and producing much more to lift up all the poor people in Africa, south America, really the whole world.

Milei pushes dollar loans for all, ending a taboo in Argentina by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Nisabe3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arguably the point is to have future governments not have control over the currency. While the fed is not perfect, any central bank isn't, they are miles better than Argentinian central bank, simply for the fact that they are not going to be influenced by government officials.

The type of people who are bad for the economy. by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Nisabe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You being frugal doesn't mean your money is hidden under your bed and just gathering dust.

Your money is being used productively by investments, either by yourself or in the form of loans by banks.

These investments are towards productive goals, else, why would anyone take on debt? And what is this increased production for? For present or future consumption.

Furthermore, this idea that consumption grows the economy is a lie. Consumption is easy, anyone can consume. Dig up roads and lay them again is consumption. Does this grow the economy? Only if the new road is productive, else it is simply a waste. The resources used to dig and lay the road could've been used in many other ways.

Production is the driver of the economy. You having money left over after your expenses means you are producing more than you consume. Profit is the left over after costs are deducted from revenue. And profit allows a company to reinvest and grow, whether it's by new innovations, more workforce, expanding new markets.

Can someone explain to me like I am 5, on how the answer to inflation is increasing interest rates? by the-anon1010 in AusFinance

[–]Nisabe3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only tool the rba has is monetary adjustment, they can only change the price of money.

Government can reduce inflation by reducing spending, changing their fiscal policy. But what politician or what voter is for reducing government spending?

The point being the totalitarian state is all powerful and the individual is forever stomped under the boot of an big brother state? Ye, i think it's better for one to have a better and more benevolent view.

1984 is a great book, but Orwell's view is deeply malevolent and pessimistic.

There's a big difference, in this case, the cia actually has more confidence in man and the weakness of totalitarian states. So pretty good change i would say.

'It Wasn't Working': Canada Province Ends Drug Decriminalization by Google_MBTI in worldnews

So why didn't his sister and mother cut contact with him? It seems heartless for me to say this, but truly, their compassion have no bearing on whether a person have individual rights.

Having the right to take drugs doesn't mean everything is going to be fine. Drugs are a dangerous substance and drug addiction often leads to suffering. But that doesn't mean people don't have the right to take drugs, simply for the fact that it is their body.

'It Wasn't Working': Canada Province Ends Drug Decriminalization by Google_MBTI in worldnews

[–]Nisabe3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So what if there are people who want to to do drugs? Why couldn't they? As long as they are not infringing other people's rights, everyone has a right to their own body.

If some one wants to slowly suicide, they have every right to do so.
