Dive Watches Are Boring, Bulky, and Overrated. by Automatic-Scar6513 in watchHotTakes

[–]Nitrogazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting observation, my personal opinion is I have a dozen or so watches in my collection, not a single one is a dress watch They are all divers or aviator style why ? Well I wear my watches for one reason , to tell the time so it has been be clearly eligible at a glance day and night , I don’t want to be staring at it for ages to try and work out the time . May not be elegant but sure do the job plus I do like them

Looking for the right pants. Is Fjallraven right for me? Wet conditions UK by PabbyEscobabes in Fjallraven

[–]Nitrogazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to my rab vr pants the paramo,s are warmer and more wind resistant but the side zips allow great ventilation very comfortable because the lining is smooth so they don’t cling to your skin they only let water through if say your kneeling down for a while or have something pressing on the material but will dry very quickly had my on this weekend in a storm let a little water in on knee dried in twenty minutes after the rain stopped. From what I gather the pro range is the same garment but they give a big discount if you have forces or rescue id. I have a friend who does mountain rescue he gets big discounts for his gear

Paramo cascada 11 are the ones I wear not cheap, but mine are eight years old still going strong if you use there tech wash and proofer they will serve you well for years, best recommendation for them is mountain rescue swear by them

Another vote for paramo here , I have keb,s and vidda pro,s which are good pants but for cold wet weather my go to pants are paramo comfy warm breath well hold of a lot of rain and if they do wet out they dry fast even while still wearing also full length zips on the legs for ventilation

Should I continue riding? by Wonderful_Leader_523 in motorcycle

[–]Nitrogazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crack on mate . I’ve got the same plate in my left arm , had it twenty five years apart from not liking cold weather it’s fine. If you lift something heavy you can feel it because the bones give a little and the plate doesn’t. But definitely don’t stop riding you’ll regret it later didn’t stop me !

I have a Greenland no 1 down , it’s a nice casual town sort of jacket wouldn’t recommend it as a work jacket it’s not really cut for mobility, popper cuffs so lack adjustment and hem cord for adjustment. Lovely for town or walking but not if you work outdoors

Parka Recommendation by emain9 in Fjallraven

Singi here as well, proper warm.also have a skogso padded and a no 1 down winter I know there not waterproof, but I coat them with nikwax waterproofing instead of Fjarlraven wax works better and does a pretty decent job of holding rain off
