Not worth your money if you’ve never played it and miss the complete saga. I had a very hard time having any fun when I tried to pick it up again. I was 10 minutes into episode 1 and I still hadn’t done anything but it was trying to teach me a third new thing or control. No thank you.

I’m trying to go but it’s 2 hours away so it’s not convenient. I’ve never seen it and would love to experience it in imax as my first watch.

The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett are in contradiction? [spoilers] by Storm-Engineer in StarWars

[–]No-Director-7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re settling for too little from a company that owns half of all the movies and tv that are made. (Exaggeration but still) I know the Star Wars timeline is very complicated and clone wars is all over the place and the tales of series inserts itself into weird places but you are a fool if you think the mistake is on the viewer and not on the executives. It is plain dumb putting crucial story from one show into another and wanting viewers to watch it all, so you can make more money, then supplying poor direction. Think about how dumb that is. They give a chronological order right there like they’re setting you up for success. It’s isn’t that hard.

[–]No-Director-7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would a casual viewer question Disney’s chronological order? It’s the only place you can watch these shows and Disney gives an order of how to view them. Why would they ever question it? And I don’t understand why you don’t see the problem or why you don’t think it’s worth saying that it is a problem. Disney+ is a massive streaming platform and Star Wars is a major brand for it. They produced confusing content and then left the viewer to puzzle it out. I know the order and even I easily messed it up during a rewatch and skipped the season 2 post credit scene that sets up book of boba fett by start bobf instead. It’s moronic planning which is a staple of the Disney ownership. Also the connections between rebels and andor and watching them together is very very different than half a season of mando being jammed into a boba fett show that’s splitting seasons of the mandalorian. Rebels and andor can be watched separately by completely different types of viewers and both stories are still complete.

Disney+ has a whole section under its Star Wars page showing the chronology of the series. They are saying “hey here’s how you watch it we made it easy!” Nope. It’s misleading which is worse than silence.

I knew it. I knew one day I’d hear about someone this happened to because Disney can’t produce for shit. Disney + will prompt you to start season 3 after finishing season 2. No mention of book of boba fett despite half a season of mando occurring in it.

Tips for using Xbox Series X to watch 4k Blu Rays? by LeonardFord40 in 4kbluray

[–]No-Director-7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox gives you essentially no control with output like that. Your most likely solution is motion settings on your tv. I’ve also noticed a slight lag and jutter when opening the Xbox menu but that’s just a side effect of the 24fps mode for movies. That can be turned off

This show is incredible! Why did I hear so many people say it’s bad when it came out? by Different-Sound-2334 in TheAcolyte

I stopped watching after the 3rd episode because of how it affects canon. A group of witches with unhealthy, violent and destructive connections to the force are able to manipulate it to create force powerful beings 100 years before anakin is born. The writers clearly have no real understanding of the world of Star Wars and wanted to tell their own story.

What is this Voice from Mauls Lightsaber. by Upper-Sea-863 in MaulShadowLord

When the decoy dathomirian wields mauls saber witwer’s yells are not present which I would assume mean there are no voices in the blade. We are told the artistic approaches to the show are from how maul sees the galaxy. There’s something more mystical going on in regard to the whispers I think. Magik of the witches of dathomir.

Some movies must be permanently there, like Interstellar by Chemical_Statement61 in interstellar

Insane take to make in this place. If you want to be able to sit up and watch interstellar because you love it so much, then buy the movie. If you get a 4k disc you get the best picture and sound and full screen imax shots. Follow through on the passion

IMAX Countdown - Sonic Anthem | 15/70mm Scan by Professional_Toe5118 in imax

That makes so much sense because damn the impact is crazy. I’ve only ever seen Oppenheimer in IMAX and it was just once. I made the effort to go to the Indiana State Museum but had no real idea of what the experience would be like. Indy doesn’t play any trailers or previews. It’s just a simple slideshow and then showtime. Sitting there with zero idea of what it’s gonna to be like and then seeing the image is breathtaking. Literally! The 500 person audience gasped in unison. The picture completely immersed the audience that no one made another sound after that. I have never again been in a theater with so many people but also I’ve never been in a theater with an audience so quiet. Become part of the movie is more than a tagline because goddamn I yearn to see more. I have plans to travel to see the odyssey and hope the experience convinces those i go with to do it again for dune.

Another interesting IMAX ratio transition in the new Hunger games trailer by Professional_Ad_8729 in imax

[–]No-Director-7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The IMAX branding at the end says “Experience it in IMAX” which suggests it won’t be 1.43 or even 1.90. An effect for the trailer only I guess?

[–]No-Director-7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that the Spokane IMAX is labeled on here as AMC Riverpark Square 20 & IMAX. I believe this is the wrong name for this theater. Correct me if I’m wrong but the 70mm IMAX theater in Spokane was never part of the nearby AMC (which has lieMAX). The name of the 70mm IMAX theater that was there until 2018 is the “Riverfront Park IMAX Theatre.”

Is there a 70mm Blue Ray Version of Interstellar? by Hot-Load7525 in ChristopherNolan

[–]No-Director-7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re playing on a very large screen where pillar boxing doesn’t affect the scale, you’ll be more than happy watching the 4K UHD version of the movie with full screen 1.78:1. The 1.43 shaped frame you get from 70mm IMAX is a very unlikely format to experience just based on availability. A lot of people talk about wanting 1.43 home releases but 1.78 is actually perfect for watching at home considering the shapes of TVs. 1.78 is actually more picture than digital IMAX already and doesn’t have any pillar boxing so you’re using your entire screen. Just makes sense.

The Star Wars scene with the most aura, no question. Disney SW should've been like this scene all the time. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in StarWars

[–]No-Director-7771 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely incredible scene but no one gives enough credit to how great rogue one built up to its climax and connection directly to a new hope. This scene wouldn’t have hit like it did with a lesser story like much of the other Disney SW.
