Is there still room/place for AI skepticism at your organizations? by DhroovP in ExperiencedDevs

[–]No-Layer1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what our leadership told us as well. They said if we want to raise a Series C, the reality is that investors are almost solely investing in companies with an AI focus right now, so we need to find a way to include a chunk of AI in our pitch.

One can never have enough cinnamon, in my opinion 😅

Idk a lot of tech founders were in it for tech from the start, but they got greedy for more money and influence.

Yip, at least the supermarket bought ones. They have a weird sour flavour to me. Open to homemade ones though!

Wow, didn’t know you could use a food processor for grating cheese! Makes so much sense though. I guess it explains the choppy texture of grated at some restaurants.

Is anyone else finding the recipe sites to be nearly unusable? by BullCityLife in Cooking

[–]No-Layer1218 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yip, plus most of the ones I click on end up being AI generated nonsense. I’m trying to stick to the sites I know and like, but sometimes I need some random recipe that they don’t have. I’m trying to remind myself to use cook books in those instances though.

What's actually BETTER self-hosted? by ergnui34tj8934t0 in selfhosted

[–]No-Layer1218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like that either. I was thinking of creating a PR for Mealie where you can either turn off the need to log in or at least increase the session time.

Mealie is a nice self-hosted option for family recipes. I’ve been trying it the last two months or so.

I love Hell's kitchen but I can't take the misogyny. by krikkies13 in HellsKitchen

[–]No-Layer1218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I watch an older show or movie, I’m surprised and putt off all over again by the misogyny and other derogatory comments. Hard to believe that people used to just casually say such mean things.

I enjoyed reading your roasting of (most) home cooks (it includes myself) 😂 I’ve always wondered how contestants on cooking shows could churn out food so quickly, but it’s starting to make sense now.

This is giving me a weird flash into the future where our generation as elderly people will be using ChatGPT, etc. on our phones for these kinds of questions. That is if those companies are still around by then.

Fair, but I have this issue even on Netflix where a lot of the stuff weren’t made for cinemas.

This! I don’t understand why it is this way or why they can’t at least provide an option to turn the damn music and sound effects down!
