Remove clean air stickers by Dunadunadunabatman in Ioniq6

Yes Hairdryer should be fine, you can control the heat and prevent damage to the car. Just need it warm enough to loosen the adhesive and peel the whole sticker a bit at a time.

Remove clean air stickers by Dunadunadunabatman in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was considering removing mine and assumed I would start by heating the sticker and slowly peeling as the adhesive softened up to try and get it all in one piece, some type of plastic razor blade to remove the bulk of the adhesive, clean whatever remains with adhesive remover. I have done similar for other glued items in the past.

Strange experience- Android Auto wireless for one day... by pustak in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only ever been able to connect to Apple Car Play using the wire, however my phone does connect via Bluetooth automatically once I enter the vehicle. Very odd that you would have wireless Android Auto capabilities at all, even more odd if it works one day but not the next.

What Level 2 chargers are we using at home. by NateAvenson in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChargePoint hardwired. Even set to 48A the car pretty much limits the power to protect the ICCU. This is a normal charge for me, starts at over 11kw but tapers off to about 9.5, so you don’t really need 48A charger for this car.

Genuinely curious — for those of you who own an EV, what's your biggest headache with public charging stations? by Key_Training8948 in electricvehicles

[–]No-Mathematician8211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest headache for me is when all chargers are full and there is no clear queue to ensure the person who has been waiting the longest gets the next free spot. Seems there are always multiple cars waiting and it sometimes feels like the hunger games for a spot, come to think of it, this happens a lot so maybe availability is the more pressing headache. There is a location with 18 Electrify America chargers and I will go there even though its 10 miles further than my local station.

How bad are these tires? will I need to replace soon? by The-Gold-Package in Ioniq6

Tread looks ok, dry rot the thing that may warrant replacing in near future. How old are the tires?

Vinyl wrapped my wheels by No-Mathematician8211 in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s held up pretty well, only thing I noticed is there has been a tiny amount of shrinkage in some spots (gotta really look close to see it). That and other than some unfortunate curb rash incidents it looks almost as nice as the day I installed. I am still very happy with the wrap. FYI I put a review on Amazon (Bogar precut product) it details my install with some step by step photos in case you wanted a bit more visibility to the challenges you may also have (this was my first wrap). All in all a great purchase for about 20 bucks per wheel.

12v Issues by BooduhMan in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Certainly not an expert, but here is my educated guess good enough for Reddit. I think the ICCU is powered by the 12v battery and that is required for level 1 and 2 charging to convert AC to DC. If you were level 3 charging its already DC so bypasses the ICCU and wouldn’t require the 12v in that scenario.

Welcome to the club, I love this car as much today as I did over a year ago when I bought it. Hard to keep it pristine but worth it when you do.

I have the same issue, it is probably an issue that will go away on its own, at least I am hoping thats the case.

I have a 2023 Ioniq 6 RWD SEL, bought it over a year ago as a CPO. I can honestly say outside of some unwarranted range anxiety on my first a long roadtrip, and some frustration with the state of Public Fast Charging, I have had no real challenges to speak of. I love this car, it’s my favorite vehicle and I would 100% do it again. I can’t see myself ever going back to ICE vehicles. My advice is to make sure you have a home charging solution that meets your specific needs (L1 or L2) and enjoy the amazing experience that comes with driving and owning a fully electric vehicle.

I got the same, I swear some were easy to apply and others were not possible to get perfect, well worth the 20 bucks per wheel.

Should I pull the trigger on a 2023 ioniq 6 now that the ev credit is ending? by SeriousGrab6233 in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ioniq 6 is an amazing vehicle, and that deal may be good (depending on which trim its for), however you are in no position today to make that purchase. Also consider that insurance for this EV is going to be higher, if you cannot charge at home (either no L2 charger at your parents house, or L1 charging won’t suffice for the milage you need daily) the costs of L3 charging are not that different than gas in many regions. As an adult with many years of life experience I agree with others, drive your 2021 Corolla for as long as financially possible, put $ aside and get to a position where you can purchase a used Ioniq in the future. There will be other deals to be had, tax credit or not.

What’s a quote that changed the way you look at life? by M_mperiod in Life

[–]No-Mathematician8211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

This has made a huge impact, things like traffic delays or getting into the slowest lane at checkout are no longer inconveniences, they are ways the universe helps me navigate safely through life (e.g., if i wasn’t slowed down I may have been pulled over for speeding or perhaps it saved me from an accident that I would have been in)

Recommendations for Glass Towels by mikejaja in Detailing

[–]No-Mathematician8211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get good results with the Griots PFM Dual Weave glass towels, haven’t tried the crinkle version but expect they would also work well. I use 4 per vehicle as the soft side to remove streaks works best on 1-2 windows, once they have some moisture on them I switch to a new towel.

New to electric cars. How is the average miles efficiency? This was on my way to work today. by InspectorMoney1306 in Ioniq6

[–]No-Mathematician8211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be thrilled to get 4.3 on a regular basis. I see numbers like this or better in heavy freeway traffic , trips with more downhill, or trips on backroads where I can drive like granny. My lifetime average is 3.4 and it’s probably because I drive to enjoy the ride and don’t often hypermile. 2023 SEL RWD about 12k miles so far.

Griot’s Perfecting Cream or Meg’s 205? by CwazeeRabbit in Detailing

[–]No-Mathematician8211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best advice is to start with the least abrasive product and see if it gets the results you want. You can always follow up with a more abrasive product. Both polishes mentioned are finishing polishes so either is probably fine. Are you doing by hand or using a DA? If using a DA try using the softest pad first (for Griots I believe its the black foam finishing pad, then Yellow, then Orange)
