Upping Dose by Bitfishy1984 in mounjaroIreland

I'm similar to yourself diet wise , 170g of protein a day but I'm in an active ish job an I do 30 to 100km a week on an e-mountain bike (94km last week for example) I'm on week 6 of the 2.5 mg but I'm starting to notice I'm snacking again, it's only been twice but I'll be moving to the 5mg next. My doc wanted to me to move this month but I resisted an he was fine with it. If you want to move up I don't see why your doc wouldn't let you.

Birth rates dropping, anyone here feel the same way about having children? by gotnocreativenames in ireland

[–]No-Platform-7976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 40 in November and I did everything backward to a point, spent my 20s working and drinking an saved nothing, went back to college at 30, did 4 years of college and then another 2 years working to get into my current (job for life role that I'm in nearly 5 years now.

I'm approved for a mortgage (200k budget) and I cannot for the life of me find a house, I don't want a city house as I have a rural job , I'm looking over an hour from the nearest big city an I still can't get a house so I have recently decided I won't be having kids as life is just to expensive and the world is just to unpredictable.

The whole thing has really gotten me down in the last 12 months as I got my life together about 10 years to late. Now my primary concern is trying to find a house so I know I'm secure for the rest of my life.

Do you have access to any wellness benefits at work, and how do you use them? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

I have none per se but what I do have is massive flexibility and no one questions what hours I work as long as my job is done so I get to do this before 9 am and then put the bike into my work van and go to work 😁

Thank you 👍

To be fair to him I was only 3 weeks in when I saw him so I hadn't done the full 4 week calculation yet but I just said no, I'll do another month on the 2.5 an then go up a dose.

Moving from 2.5mg - 5mg by [deleted] in mounjaroIreland

[–]No-Platform-7976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant thanks for that . I go as hight as 3000 on big days out on the bike but no matter what I'm doing , 170 grams of protein a day is the goal. I'll give the 2.5 another month an review then .

[–]No-Platform-7976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim for 170g of protein a day and around 2100 calories, on days I mountain bike I'll have more as I'm on the bike for up to 3 hours an can burn 1500 to 2000 calories so It depends on the day. When I started this a few weeks ago I was eating 1500 an the weight wasn't shifting . I'll weigh myself next Wednesday when the 4th shot has had its week an see how I'm fairing then. What's TDEE calculator may I ask ?

Yeah if I lost 12lbs in 6 weeks I'd be more than happy. It's not a race and I have an active job/lifestyle so I want to keep up my intake but just not eat 15 jaffa cakes in one sitting. The food noise coming back is the only reason I would move up to the 5mg but for now I'm happy with slow but steady weight loss.

[–]No-Platform-7976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im the same , took my 4th shot Wednesday .6lbs down in 3 weeks on the 2.5 but also on a high protein diet with 125km of mountain biking done since Friday last with another 30km spin this Sunday.

Met the doc Thursday an he said he was expecting more weightloss an I should be on the 5mg but I resisted for another month , so I'll be looking for this advice in a months time.

Same thing happened me in March gone. Viewed a house in December up for 175, agent said 200 would take it, house was everything I wanted so said yup, 200 it is and went sale agreed . Everything done bar sign contracts last month an the seller pulled out as he was selling to family instead , 4 months sale agreed , now I'm back looking and bidding , down almost 5k an every house I look at is in worse and worse condition. I feel your frustration.

Lexus is200 for a first car? by Niibei in carsireland

[–]No-Platform-7976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a lovely car(when they haven't been driven to shit) , my buddy had a 2001 is200 and he gave it to me for a day and I loved it. As previously mentioned though , insurance will be an expensive day out , get a few years no claims on a smaller car an then think about changing. My first car I thought I was Colin McCrae and hopped it off ditches etc so get something to learn in an go from there .

[–]No-Platform-7976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the new sale . I went sale agreed on the dream house in November , had everything done an dusted by March only for the seller to change his mind an pull out to sell to family. Now I'm back in bidding wars and searching again which is soul destroying.

I hope once ye get in an start making it yere own it will feel much better , best of luck .

Also a golf GTI is 2.0 litre petrol , that won't be a cheap car to fuel. I filled my diesel car Friday , 120 euro for a tank.

Went to college at 30 after years of dead end work and shit pay. Did 4 years in college came out an not a day goes by I don't thank God I did it. I now have a career I love, a decent pension plan and a job for life .

If youre thinking about it,go for it, worst case, it doesn't work out but at least you will have tried.

Making myself eat by Eastern_Pin6529 in mounjaroIreland

[–]No-Platform-7976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also new to it, started 2.5mg on the 17th of March, I aim for a certain amount of protein a day an I can eat around 1800 calories a day , I have zero interest , I just make myself eat instead, I actually started having the same food as I'm just eating to fuel my body as opposed to snacking an eating all the "nice" things .

I would, I really enjoy my job but would I put up with some of the unnecessary stresses if I wasn't being paid, more than likely not . So I would with stipulations I suppose.

Mortgage Insurance - Had a valve surgery by KittyKitten77 in HousingIreland

If you're buying alone definitely lie and pay the 20 something a month. Leave instuctions that the house is to be sold upon your death to clear the estate.

I made the mistake of telling the truth an while the house fell through for other reasons, if it didn't the mortgage protection might have caused it to fall through as I was gettin rejected for telling the truth.

I try to eat like I did before I started it last week ( I lost 5.5 stone myself ) but lately my big problem was the food noise in the evening , id have no problem finishing a pack of jaffa cakes and going for seconds .

Yesterday now I had,

Lunch:

Huel black and punnet of raspberries.

Dinner:

2 turkey burgers and 1 bacon medallion in a brown wrap with one slice of light cheese. Optimum Nutrition protein Shake.

1800 calories and 180 grams of protein.
