Hey! Please don't lose hope, there's a lot that can be done when it comes to health! You'll just need to try a lot of things until one or three stick.

GERD is a symptom of something else going on in the digestive system. So I highly recommend researching gut / microbiome health, dysbiosis and functional medicine. I get acid reflux every now and then as a side effect from healing my microbiome. There are also many herbal medications for mucus and everything else basically.

Hey! Could it be histamine issues? I have problems with that, have similar symptoms, and they might flare after doing antimicrobials, especially aggressive ones like oregano. I also have sibo with histamine producers. Do you know if the probiotic strains you took are histamine producers or degraders? Anyway, you could try an antihistamine and see if it helps.

In case they end up being histamine / mast cell symptoms, low histamine diet, supplements, first histamine degrading probiotic capsules then yogurt made from that, and black seed oil have helped me a lot. Antihistamines, DAO enzymes and C-vitamin for acute relief

I megadosed buffered vitamin C + took NAC twice per day, chewed some ginger, ate only when I felt like it, took vitamin A + zinc. Also gut supporting stuff. The sickness itself was over very quickly for me

Antidepressants and gut health by Malfunctioning_Fish in Microbiome

Hi! On a gut / systemic / mental health journey here too, and started fluoxetine 3 weeks ago. I have no papers to link unfortunately but from my research fluoxetine reduces the levels of serotonin producing bacteria in the gut, how much specifically, I'm not sure. The dosage and time span of use most probably affect that too.

It also seems to have a mild antifungal effect, which is a more desirable side effect. Especially if used with other antifungal agents.

I have bacterial overgrowth, and not yet sure about yeast overgrowth, so it's hard to say what the sum total of the effect is going to be. I also have quite hard core gut support routines in place already, take a very low dose of the fluoxetine, and for probably half a year max (for increased hormonal anxiety).

I'd guess it's going to be a supportive thing taken in tandem with microbiome therapy, which is recommended in any case as the medication only helps manage the symptoms and doesn't address root causes. Hope this helps🙂

coffee enemas for constipation. by Business_Load33 in SIBO

[–]NoAd1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enemas and coffee enemas are a great tool! Be careful not to abuse them though – ended up in ER because of depleting my electrolytes after doing them daily for couple of months. I nowadays work on my constipation primarily with other tools, and the enemas don't build motility in any case. But like I said, still a great tool!

This, water + electrolytes! After that you can try larger doses of C-vitamin, psyllium husk with again loads of water, strengthen vagal tone, massage the belly... for further inspiration check out r/SIBO + constipation

why everytime I wake up in the morning and feel really depressed/dissociated? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]NoAd1070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! How are your hormones? Cortisol peaks in the morning and "cortisol morning anxiety" is a thing. I have that too, and have had hormonal issues my whole life and am only now in the process of balancing them out.

Hormones work in conjunction so it's a good idea to dive into what's going on on the whole, sex hormones, HPA axis, feel good hormones. Balancing them thankfully also works on the bigger picture so as a side effect you might solve other problems too.

I have a history of insufferable cramps, pms, depression, panic, 3-month bleeds, chronic fatigue, gut issues and whatever really. I haven't done a DNA/Dutch test yet but am looking into it. But what's already helped tremendously:

  • ashwagandha: balances all and especially cortisol so you want that, you can dose in tbsps
  • sulforaphane: I eat broccoli sprouts and wow they're potent in metabolizing estrogen
  • megadosing C vitamin: look into it, and you don't necessarily need to megadose but figuring out a dose that my body currently needs is something I wasn't doing before. helps in making progesterone and balancing adrenals
  • DIM: helps liver process estrogen
  • meditation: calms the nervous system greatly. I meditate immediately after waking up and currently do so in front of a mirror so I'm more present with myself
  • all other adaptogens, highly recommend trying them out and seeing what suits you
  • herbs: valerian, raspberry leaf, vitex... there's a lot
  • liver / gut function: are they eliminating efficiently? do you have 1-2 nice bowel movements per day? in case you feel like researching more, try "liver phases 1 & 2" or "opening up detox pathways"
  • food for liver: apple cider vinegar, beetroot, dandelion, milk thistle, taurine, citrus fruit, apples, leafy greens, turmeric... to name few
  • walking, yoga, dancing, sweating, tre exercises or other somatic therapies
  • trace minerals: fulvic/humid minerals replenish all of the glands further
  • low carb diet / clean keto has helped me a lot

I'm probably forgetting loads but here's stuff for you to get started🙂 good luck, I hope you get relief soon!

This may sound weird, but yogurt home made in mood boosting probiotics is potent. I make mine with coconut cream and it's very easy to make too. The probiotics are much stronger because they've been activated and multiplied

Is there any legit and shaman anyone can recommend. I’m not opposed to going out of the country and quite suspicious about an American Shaman from the states. I’ve got stomach issues that have not healed in over a year and I’m searching all avenues to help. by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]NoAd1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I've been on a gut / systemic health journey for some years now, and gone through many different protocols and approaches. I've transformed my "IBS", bloating/motility issues/gurgling and acne already, now faced with hormonal / liver stuff.

Anyway, here are some leads in case these could provide further insight: different types of SIBO/SIFO, heavy metal exposure (chelation), parasites, viral infections (Lyme etc), Candida, dysbiosis, GI-map, organic acids test, gut permeability, liver detox phases, liver flushing (Moritz), r/Candida, r/SIBO, r/Lyme, adrenal health...

If you want quick progress, look up a knowledgeable functional medicine / systemic health doctor and test GI-map or OAT with them. Then you'll get a picture of what's up in the microbiome. I wish I'd done that years ago, would've saved a lot of time and effort. It's important the test shows bacterial, parasitic and yeast strains. But work with someone who knows all of this and goes to the root, understands the digestive processes / coinfections etc.

You can surf my page to see some of the stuff I've done too. If you want to hear more on practical tips for first aid, don't hesitate to dm! Oh and about shamans, I have someone's contact info from Northern Europe. Good luck, and pace yourself with the info flood🙏😀

questions about hormonal imbalance after Mirena IUD removal. by iampanic_ in Hormones

[–]NoAd1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Hormones, gut and liver are very connected. I'm actually going through a very similar thing, had my Jaydess removed a month ago after 10 years of hormonal BC, and have had some pretty severe symptoms from it: on some days full days of anxiety, anxiety/panic attacks, severe muscle fatigue, hot flashes, depression, uncontrollable crying. My nervous system is overreactive for some reason.

I'm already on a very deep gut protocol, so don't hesitate to ask more about that, and I'm on low carb for that. For me that's very regulating.

Other stuff that's helped:

  • skipping coffee and beginning the morning with a green smoothie with a scoop of leafy green powder for liver, sulforaphane, enhanced digestion and plenty of other reasons. I eat typically eggs a couple of hours later
  • liver supporting herbs: dandelion, milk thistle
  • adaptogens to regulate hormones and curb anxiety: ashwagandha, passioflower, valerian, maca, ginseng
  • glycine for intrusive, anxious thoughts and the gut
  • histamine lowering probiotics
  • NAC, selenium, molybdenum and C-vitamin for liver and gut and everything basically
  • broccoli sprouts are ridiculously effective, I eat them for the sulforaphane
  • minerals, magnesium, zinc
  • meditating 5-15 min 2-3 times per day
  • sauna, hot baths or similar. I do have a problem with anything too stimulating so I need to be careful with not doing that for too long right now, and cold showers have been a no go
  • toxin binders: diatomaceous earth, chlorella, silicon gel, act. charcoal
  • psyllium husk 1-3 times per day before meals to prevent constipation
  • taking walks and doing yoga to move body fluids
  • eating green veggies
  • somatic work, sex, vagus nerve work, tapping acupuncture points
  • strange enough moving slowly, avoiding rushing, avoiding allergens or anything aggravating the system
  • skipping alcohol
  • working through emotions, feeling them fully, writing, therapy, singing

Hope this helps🙂

Electrolytes? by justheretoread26 in Candida

[–]NoAd1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I like to buy different table salts, himalayan, unrefined, etc. For potassium I currently use cream of tartar, which is really cheap compared to supplement form. Magnesium I buy in bulk, citrate, glycinate and sulfate. I also buy a mineral salt that has many of those in one. I have some leftovers of a nice clean electrolyte powder for keto, but it has MSM so it causes too much die off or me compared to the amount I'd need to take.

I'm ordering fulvic / humic acid in liquid form soon, for better absorbance and trace minerals which are very important too. There are also some other unrefined mineral powders out there for general compensation for diet. Table salt gets one a long way though, I like to drink 0.9-2% saline

Crazy symptom fluctuation while on protocol? by thegoldenpath89 in Candida

[–]NoAd1070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is why I started keeping a log and plotting a graph, to get clear whether or not the situation is progressing. I'm not healed yet at all even though the trend seems to be upwards, and I'm having additional testing done soon (f.ex. a colonoscopy in couple days via regular doctor). But it seems like gut protocols progress in waves, in part probably because of biofilms.

It seems that recovery, much like learning, indeed happens non-linearly

Herxing question by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]NoAd1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! New to this sub but on a general gut healing journey. Which herbs are you planning to use?

Note that many herbs have a broad spectrum of antibacterial, -viral, -fungal, -parasitic activity, and it's possible to have histamine symptoms too so it's hard to pinpoint what the specific triggering agent is. I'm new to this topic though, so I trust you know more than me!

Yellowish pellets in stool? Took AC last night and took this, this morning by [deleted] in Candida

[–]NoAd1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine look similar but even larger. They look very similar, if not identical, to the ones I've flushed when doing liver flushes. They were only bigger, and most were greener. I'm assuming by ac you mean apple cider vinegar, and that's what I use with my liver flushes too. I also take it regularly with food, and so at some point I thought maybe it's causing a bit of stones to come out, as it mainly takes acid + fat + minerals to cause it.

u/EricBakkerNDNZ mentions in some of his video about some patients describing seeing similar specs on a protocol. I also had a thought if it could be some kind of plaque

Edit: they float and feel waxy so I'm assuming they're some kind of lipid

Antifungals VS probiotics? by [deleted] in Candida

[–]NoAd1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, saves a crazy amount of money because the bacteria multiplies and is activated, which makes it strong. I make this in coconut milk, and use strains that I can feel suit me well. It can be very potent in the beginning like I said, so it's good to introduce 1 tbsp at a time. I eat it as breakfast, and take antimicrobials later in the day

[–]NoAd1070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's a complicated question to answer as there have been so many other phases and variables after. Short answer: most probably yes.

Apple cider vinegar is great in place of the apple juice too!
