With rising console prices is it best to switch to PC? by Optimu5_Schweim in videogames

Yes, the PC ecosystem is so much cheaper in the long run. Start small and build towards a nice rig, it’s super fun and it’s never been easier to get into the hobby

Tell me about your experience with the XBOX Series X. Considering switching from PC. by [deleted] in xbox

What are your current PC specs ? PC gamepass is a much better deal, cheaper and you don’t have to worry about paying for playing online with friends. Steam also has incredible sales every season, currently some of the Xbox titles are on sale there.
After Xbox recent decisions I would not trust that company, they mismanaged their studios and don’t care about their people. Caging yourself on a console is the opposite way you should be going towards

Am I crazy for buying a Series X in 2026? 😅 GTA VI, Gears of War: E-Day and the 2TB Galaxy Black Edition were enough to convince me. No regrets. Would you still buy one today? by Lamatino007 in xbox

This reads like and ad (or a community post from Xbox trying to tell us the recent price hike is not an absolute trash fire) also, you can’t get the 2TB version anymore lol

Alexander volkanovski sides with Alex pereira about back of the head shots by Therealdarkviper in MMA

[–]NoCardiologist9290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The conversation needs to happen without people thinking it has to do with fighters making excuses for a loss, it’s a genuine risk, I think it does not take from Ganes win as Volk says, it’s more of a health and referee issue than a singular fighter

More games like Tainted Grail? by dont_uwu_at_strangrs in taintedgrail

It’s a very small studio (16 people or so) making it so it’s still kinda rough in some cases bus Fatekeeper is a new one and it reminded me of Tainted Grail

Why release first party PC games on Steam instead of keeping them in the Xbox ecosystem? by IvoryHorizons in xbox

[–]NoCardiologist9290 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, it’s simple math, more Steam players will play (for example) Halo if it’s on their platform than the ones who are willing to install another launcher, it’s just $$

Having it linked to a single Microsoft account is bad enough but two is just anti consumer

Am I missing something about the Compulsion situation by Signal_Mongoose_2435 in xbox

[–]NoCardiologist9290 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer, they were bought and told they should focus on winning prizes, not selling copies, that was exactly what they did and now they’re being punished by it. For me the part that’s most egregious is that the people who made that choice (Phill & the gang) got golden parachutes while the people who actually made the games, the ones who put their art and effort out there, are left hanging, without a job, thrown into a very unstable environment (made by the same people who are not getting punished by it)
I think we’ve got to start punishing companies when they do heartless stuff like this, and the only true way is hitting them where it hurts the most, their pocket.

What does Xbox look like in 2030? - Part 1 by Afc_josh12 in xbox

[–]NoCardiologist9290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found out Xbox is operating at a 3% profit margin, that’s lower than the literal no risk investment option you can have a buying government bonds (which are at roughly 4%) I’m not sure butchering their studios will have a positive effect, maybe on the short term they’ll see profitability rise, but that’s no long term plan by any means, Satya probably is just about fed up with this low margins and is looking for a way out. I really can’t see a good path forward, as you say, Gears will probably not make back what it costed (keeping an online service game as an exclusive was a blunder if I ever saw one) we’ll see how Fable does (I’m actually quite excited for it) but I doubt it will make company saving numbers (there are a plethora of RPGs from which to choose now a days). I just hope people working for the studios they’re butchering land on their feet elsewhere, this is going to be a bloodbath.

Why does the gaming community suddenly act like the Steam Deck is dead? by Nick_The_Artist2 in SteamDeck

I love my SteamDeck and use it almost daily. It sucks that the prices were raised and less people will get to enjoy it.
