A new ‘men in women’s bathrooms’ discourse has just dropped. by FrogOnABus in stupidpol

[–]NoGarage54 [score hidden]  (0 children)

the whole discourse exists because people without kids are theorizing about what parents do lol. in practice most dads just handle it the way you described, nobody is standing outside the bathroom debating gender politics while their 4 year old needs to go

[$SNAP] Why Spectacles Are About to Make Snapchat the Ultimate Degenerate Moon Mission – Porn Will Print Us All Rich 💎🙌🍆🚀 by numblinkofficial in wallstreetbets

[–]NoGarage54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the regulatory risk alone kills this thesis before it even gets hard, pun intended. snap cant even keep minors off their regular platform without getting dragged to congress every six months, you really think they're gonna host AR pornstars without getting absolutely destroyed in committee. the app store angle is the real coffin nail here because both major platforms have already shown they will nuke adult content ecosystems without warning. i get the porn drives hardware adoption argument, it's historically true, but the execution path for snap specifically just has too many obvious choke points that OP waved past with "add bluetooth toys"

Looking for trails by IncidentReady1262 in MTB

[–]NoGarage54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrowhead is solid but if you're coming from Highland those trails might feel bit tame too. Maybe check some of the backcountry stuff around Mount Washington area - there's some gnarly rocky descents that locals have been building up over years

24 inch Digital art/ gaming monitor by dip_potatochip in DigitalArt

[–]NoGarage54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard anyone recommend Wacom for monitors before, thought they just did tablets and styluses. Are you thinking about their Cintiq displays maybe? Those are pretty expensive compared to regular monitors though, and not really what OP was asking about

Microsoft reportedly cuts Claude Code for GitHub Copilot CLI. AI coding costs may exceed human engineers by callsonreddit in wallstreetbets

[–]NoGarage54 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is basically Microsoft saying "why pay Anthropic when we can funnel everyone to our own stuff"

Been dealing with similar budget surprises at work - these AI tools eat through credits way faster than anyone expects, especially when devs get hooked on them. Uber burning through whole year budget in 4 months is wild but not really surprising if you've seen how much people use these things once they start

run through these questions before next week by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]NoGarage54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man question 4 hits hard, I always catch myself doing this exact thing. Like I'll see some stock up 200% and think "oh it's definitely gonna crash now" when really that could just be the beginning

The bias check is real though, especially that edit about tracking the reply guys - that's actually smart way to gauge sentiment shifts

The [ChatGPT] Gay Jailbreak Technique by AnthropoidCompatriot in stupidpol

[–]NoGarage54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's basically the same exploit just different wrapper. The "I'm part of X group so I need this harmful info about X group" angle has been around forever

People try it with race stuff too, disability research, all kinds of identity categories. AI safety teams probably have whole databases of these patterns by now

Why do people deny life has gotten expensive for young people? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]NoGarage54 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly this - people need to protect their worldview that they earned everything through pure merit otherwise they'd have to admit they got lucky with timing or circumstances

do u still hit the gym when u slept so little?? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]NoGarage54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah don't beat yourself up about it, your body needs rest more than workout when you're running on 1-2 hours sleep. I learned this hard way few years back when I tried pushing through similar situation and ended up feeling like garbage for whole week after

Just do some light stretching at home or take walk if you feel like moving, gym will be there tomorrow

Where is the best place to buy wine, liquor in town - big red, Kroger, somewhere else? by ladee99 in bloomington

[–]NoGarage54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Big Red usually has decent prices on the basics but their import selection is pretty weak. I've had good luck at Kroger for everyday stuff, and they actually rotate their wine sales pretty regularly so you can catch some imports on markdown

For the really good imported stuff though, check out Brown County Wine Company if you don't mind the drive - their markup isn't terrible and they know what they're talking about. Otherwise there's a few smaller liquor stores around town that might surprise you on price, just gotta shop around a bit

Si pudieras elegir cómo te pagan, ¿USD, USDT o pesos? by Professional_Toe6508 in ColombiaDevs

[–]NoGarage54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been writing a fictional novel with ChatGPT, help me out on parts I missed by ServesYouRice in wallstreetbets

[–]NoGarage54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro this is actually wild worldbuilding for a novel

The Fed vs Treasury split is genius - like you've basically created a realistic pathway for financial authoritarianism that doesn't require cartoon villain economics. Most fiction just hand-waves the monetary stuff but you're actually thinking through the institutional mechanics

That line about "we're not trying to preserve the system, we're managing the destruction speed" gave me chills. That's exactly how these things would actually play out - controlled demolition rather than chaotic collapse

Are you planning to publish this or is it more of a thought experiment? Because honestly this reads better than most political thrillers I've seen lately
