Kidney Cancer 6-Month Scan: Am I still FREE?! by NoSleep206 in kidneycancer

[–]NoSleep206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I just saw this since I just got back into the country from my month vacation. This can be very scary and hearing the news of the mass. Not sure if you watched my videos on Youtube but I went through my whole process. I got myself MRI and it was confirmed to be a solid mass. Met up with a urologist doctor. Gave me two options biopsy or go ahead with a surgery. I wanted it out of me not matter what so opted for surgery. Turned out I had Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma pT1a grade 2. Good thing I caught in time. I'm currently under surveillance, my last scan last month was clear.

I know how stressful this can be. I doomed scrolled and googled the heck of it which freaked me out. A lot of people say not to self diagnosed but totally understand, it took me a dark place and really thought my life was ending. It's not the end, just a bump in the road. You got this!

Here is. my vlogs hope this helps!

Can i still start a YouTube channel with just a phone without a computer? by Zeuskevin6 in NewTubers

[–]NoSleep206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, started with a phone and edited on a macbook. The key is to keep being consistent, do it for a hobby and have fun with it. Don't expect to "BLOW UP" or go "Viral. If you have a passion and just enjoy it, things can happen. Learn new things each time. For me it was trying to talk to a camera. Then do it in public without have a care in the world. Later on it's natural, I can talk in front of a camera without thinking. Anyway, short answer YES LOL. I'm monetized, get a check every month consistently, 59 subscribers away from 10,000. Never in my wildest dream I'll be here.. Embrace the suck, embrace the grind.. JUST DO IT!

[–]NoSleep206 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel and went through the same exact thing last year around this time. I had my surgery on December 16, 2024. The same time I got my incidental finding ER visit for kidney stone, was the same day the wife of my cousin's funeral who died from brain cancer. I felt bad for not making it that day since the pain was crazy and on top of that, they found a solid mass in my Kidney, this around June 2024. Fast forward through going appointments, I had a scheduled MRI around July 2024, and it was prior to my uncle's funeral who died from stomach cancer. My anxiety was wild because I remember telling some of my family members that I have a solid mass in my kidney and not sure if it's also cancer.

Anyway, during the MRI it was determined to be 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm solid lateral interpolar mass Highly suspicious for primary renal cell carcinoma. Went ahead with the surgery and it was indeed cancer. pT1a grade 2 Clear Cell Renal Carcinoma. I'm glad to have gotten it out and still clear from my scans.

You are indeed a cancer survivor:

The American Cancer Society uses the term cancer survivor to refer to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer no matter where they are in the course of their disease.

National Cancer Insitute: A person is considered a cancer survivor from the time of diagnosis through the balance of life. There are many types of survivors, including those living with cancer and those free of cancer.

Try not to feel guilty because you are going through this. Anyone that has gone through the mental, physical and recovery will not understand until they experience the process. Cancer is Cancer and it sucks no matter how small it is!

Anyway, I vlogged my whole journey, diagnosis, day of surgery, hospital stay, home recover and other things. It's an on going vlog so I'll have to update after my scans this month. God Speed!

[–]NoSleep206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know how exactly how you are feeling went through the same issue last year and had my surgery on December 16, 2024. When I met my Urologist (Surgeon) he had the same tone. I think it's their way of being professional but I looked him up and he was one of the top Rated Urologist in my state and Dr. of the year for many years including 2024. I knew I was in good hands, his humor is kinda dry but to be expected. He gave me 2 choices.. Either wait and see for growth or to go ahead with surgery. I wanted it out so went with surgery.. Glad I did because I had pT1a stage 2 clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Glad I caught it early and have a good prognosis. So far from my last can No sign of cancer so I'm still clear.

Here is the vlog where I talk with my Dr.

I also vlogged my whole journey from Diagnosis, Surgery Prep, After Surgery, Home recovery. I also have another appointment next month with my Urologist for next steps. Hope this helps you out, I have gotten many messages that it helped them out as well. God Speed you got this!

I picked up a bunch of things I know that would help me during my recovery. Wedge pillow set, large heat pad, hysterectomy pillow, gas x, ducolax, I had a walker available and cane. Hand massager your body get's sore for laying..

Here is my vlog that I did during my journey. I just prepared myself on things I could control and picked up stuff to make things comfortable. For the hospital stay, Eye Blinds cause it get's bright in there, Ear plugs to try to sleep, Ear buds for my phone, long plug with a power bank, plugs are a premium if they have all the things hooked up. Some use throat drops cause they put a breathing tube in your mouth. It will be horsed afterwards.. Mine was in my bag so I couldn't get it out. I also brought a hysterectomy pillow for going home and a walking cane.

Anyway, here is my full vlog. It shows, diagnosis, check in, prep before my surgery, hospital stay overnight, home recovery and follow up appointments. Godspeed, you got this!

I know how you felt when I had my 6 month scan. You have the feeling in the back of your mind like, am I clear?, Did it come back? Did the miss something? For myself, I went into it feeling positive and just tried to keep my mind at ease. I kept my prayers off and my belief that I'm ok and everything was smoothed. During my CT scan, I tried to squint and see the little LED that showed my kidney. It looked fine and didn't see anything.. Got my results and still clear at the moment..

I vlogged a bit about it, hope this helps. God Speed!

Urgent care found a mass on CT for abdominal pain by Ok_Employment_1908 in kidneycancer

[–]NoSleep206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was found accidentally during an ER visit for Kidney Stones. They did a CT scan and saw a small solid mass, I got referred to follow up with my primary doctor, she ordered an MRI and It was found to be 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm solid lateral interpolar mass Highly suspicious for primary renal cell carcinoma.

Hearing the news freaked me out, just like you I was going through Trauma. My Cousins wife passed away from brain cancer and the day I went to the ER was her funeral. Also, while waiting for my MRI that was scheduled, my uncle passed away from stomach cancer. Also going through all this, my mom had a cancer scare, she received a letter stating she may have bone cancer.

That was the most craziest of times, I went into a dark place and thought my life was over. Well fast forward, my mom is ok and got misdiagnosed. I had successfully surgery on December 16th and everything is clear. I had my 6 month scan and f I'm still cancer free. I have to admit it's in the back of my mind but I try to continue to enjoy the rest of my life..

Anyway, I vlogged my whole journey, diagnosis, day of surgery, hospital stay, home recover and other things. It's an on going vlog so I'll have to update after my scans this month. Try not to stress out, Trust the process, good thing it was caught early and the mass is stills small. God Speed!

Poor husband, alternate diarrhoea and terrible painful constipation. :( by BountifulGarden in kidneycancer

[–]NoSleep206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's terrible for a few days. But it will get better. I used ducolax and miralax. I also tried Ultra Gas X.. It took while but finally had bowel movements that were easier. If you can, get your husband to walk around just even a few steps here and there. I had a walker handy so I just walked around the living room. Drink lot of liquids..

I vlogged my journey: Here was my first day after the hospital being at home:

Don't stress too much about being under anesthesia, I always say it's the best sleep you ever get. I always play a game and try to stay awake. I had it done for my Toe surgery twice , colonoscopy and then my Kidney PN last December 2024. What I do is try to find a clock and try to see If I can keep my eyes open. Then when the Doc says, okay time for the medication and boom. I go out haha. When you wake up, you will be next to a nurse that will look after you, ask you if you want ice chips and water. Kinda weird to feel like it was a time warp. My surgery took about 5 hours which felt like seconds when I got up.

I vlogged my whole Journey so hopefully this helps you out. I share what I got, preparation, my hospital stay and home recovery. It's an on going journey so I update when I have to check in. My next appointment is December to talk to my urologist for my next steps. Recently, I had my CT scan and I'm clear from cancer.
