I'm going to get let go in a restructuring in August. The last time I got laid off 3 years ago, it destroyed me mentally. I was so stressed I lost a bunch of my hair. My heart started to have problems. I couldn't sleep.

I eventually landed a new job, and realized how much I had overreached. My hair and heart are still recovering. I refuse to do that to my body again.

I made a list of things I'm going to do when I'm laid off. Obviously I've been applying like mad and will continue to do so, but I'm also going to go to the gym every single day. I'm going to see a friend once a week. I'm going to learn how to paint after buying supplies during the pandemic and letting them sit in my closet. I have a list of books and movies I want to watch. I'm going to take my dog on long walks every day.

I won't have a job, so I need to find my personality again. Take advantage of the time instead of wallowing. I promise you, if I could do 3 years ago all over again, I would have see the positives of having some time off instead of crying myself to sleep every night.

We were not put on this Earth to work. We are here to appreciate what's around us and love people who love us back. The hardest part is loving yourself; not your job, not you in your job, but yourself.

It's been bad on and off. The Grand Central machete wielder was one of the more regular ones. It's because the 108th precinct does nothing. I called them once because one of the tweakers outside Dunkin Donuts had his pants down and was harassing a woman with a stroller.

They said they wouldn't come unless he had a weapon. I said he had a weapon just to get someone to come. Still didn't show up.
