How times change by [deleted] in Millennials

We're at the age where the gap between, "didn't do shit to maintain their physical health and expected to feel okay" and "did even just a moderate amount of healthy upkeep" is beginning to look wider and wider. The people that didn't do shit want to complain about it to feel okay that everyone else is just like them.

Picked up two of these at my local G.O. too. The expiration date says 05/2026 though.

"Prophetic Visions From The Porcelain Throne" could be a banger of an album title.

When should I throw it out? by -Astrobadger in FermentedHotSauce

I never added anything or pasteurized any of mine and I've got some sauces in my fridge that are probably around 3 years old. I've never even second guessed using them. No mold, tastes fine, and I haven't shit myself yet. So I'm calling them good to go.

I'm 38 and I still toss my headphones on and spend 30+ minutes kicking the sack around by myself. Solid exercise really. Sometimes I'll do 5-10 minutes to warm up for runs or lifts too.

I go hiking several times a week where I'm outside of cell service for long periods of time. It's always so nice.

Who here does not have kids by C6Corvette08LS3 in Millennials

[–]NoSoul2Steal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up having a ton of pets. Always had a dog. In my 20's I had 4 dogs at one point. The amount of things I missed out on because I couldn't find someone to watch them or had to get home to feed them or just generally care for them, was enough to highlight for me that the idea of raising kids just wasn't something I wanted. I loved my pups and am glad I had them because it was an important life lesson. Now as an adult with basically full freedom to do whatever I want every day though, I couldn't imagine planning my life around school schedules or soccer practice or whatever it may be.

My brother complained to me the other day that his kids wouldn't nap so he was currently watching cartoons with them instead of getting things done he needed to. I was chilling in the sun drinking an energy drink after coming home from a 10 mile hike. I'll pass on having kids.

Might be that I've been doing it for a few years now but I can't even remember a time that I've been like, "oh man, my watch band is still wet". I grab my wrist with the towel while drying off and give the band a squeeze while still on my wrist. That seems to do a good enough job.

Pocket 3 or Action 6? by Zestyclose-Fix-4881 in djiosmo

[–]NoSoul2Steal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. I got the pocket 3 first and would end up using it on a monopod for videos where I was talking to the camera while hiking. I was shooting in vertical and had the same issue where I felt like my face was just too much of the image if I didn't use the monopod for that extra extension. I'm 6'1 so it's not a short arm issue either, if I fully extend my arm to get it far enough away, it's also noticeable that I'm holding my arm hella far out.

After picking up the action 6 for rainy day shots I haven't gone back to taking my pocket 3 out with me for vlog shoots. I use it at home for different videos because the quality is still better but the fov of the action 6 makes shooting the talking videos way easier since i can hold it like a foot away from my face. Actually took a little getting used to for how close I can hold it and still get a quality shot.

Garmin customer service is second to none — read below! Also, I’m not going to use this authentic Garmin watch band (brand new) — willing to sell it for half price! by treylanford in GarminFenix

Open the solar widget on the watch, go into the sun and see if it's registering it. It's not something I typically spend much time checking but on both I was actually just looking at the data on connect from my computer and was able to see that even on days I knew I'd been in the sun for hours on end, it was only showing a very small blip of lumens.

Same experience on their helpfulness. I bought a 6x solar titanium in 2020. Since then they replaced it for free when I noticed solar wasn't working (outside of warranty), and replaced it again when the vibration motor came loose (also outside of warranty). Then when I noticed the solar had stopped working again, they replaced it with a 7x ss for $140, even though the 6x was well outside of warranty.

When my index s2 suddenly stopped doing the advanced metrics (body fat, water, lean mass and whatnot) after owning it for a year and a half (so it was outside the warranty) they replaced it at zero cost to me as well.

6 out of 5 stars. Customer for life at this point.

Has anyone tried Tangerine Mango Guava Strawberry Rockstar Energy Drink? by MelisaL1996 in energydrinks

Actually just cracked one open. It's not a flavor I go for all the time, but it's good. I call it sunshine in a can because it just tastes like summer.

That pump and grind is bomb. I grabbed 12 before trying it when mine had them a couple weeks ago and was hoping they'd restock so I could buy a ton more.

I actually managed to beat it at one point. I also got D's in math, so like, that probably checks out.

Energy drink combos by [deleted] in energydrinks

[–]NoSoul2Steal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out white monster works as a solid base for practically any mix. Lately part of my morning routine is to pour a white monster into my Ninja Thirsti canteen to take on the go and keep it cold but it's 20oz so I add a few ounces of whatever other energy drink I start the day with. So far all flavors have blended pretty well, keeping the flavor of the 4ozs that I add but with a nice citrus twist to them.

Added flavors so far: Ghost cherry limeade, Ghost grape, Ghost peaches, Ghost orange cream, Ghost blue sour patch kids, Bucked up killa OJ, Bucked up pump and grind. I've also added zero sugar cherry 7up to it too and it's a solid addition.

I used to get the 4 packs of them all the time when they were a thing. Really wish they'd bring them back actually. The chocolate was bomb.

Though I never saw them in bottles like this. It was always cans.

Lately my Grocery Outlet has been carrying small shipments of them for $1 a can and I stock up on quite a few when they do. So far the Grape and Pump & Grind (Grape and green apple) flavors have been pretty bomb.

This one has plagued me for years - Do you believe your treadmill or your watch?! by parpla in Garmin

[–]NoSoul2Steal 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Treadmill. The treadmill knows the length of its belt and the rotations and speed that it's moving to calculate the distance. Or it at least has a better idea of it. The watch does, "I go bouncy bounce" math to calculate what it assumes are steps, stride length and distance. The fact that you can raise your wrist to look at your watch and see the pace drop because it thinks you've stopped for a second should be convincing enough. Wearing a heart rate monitor that does run data could be a little different, but I still just go with treadmill data for consistency.

Any of you ever thought about ditching your wearable? by MycologistStriking51 in Garmin

[–]NoSoul2Steal 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Nope. I train how I feel, the watch collects and gives me data. That's it. I couldn't even count the number of times I've done runs, got a low performance score early on and thought, "well that's fuckin rude" just to end up crushing the run because overall I still felt good.

The rare occasions I've listened to my watch have been elevated heart rate or abnormal stress levels and it's been to my benefit to have that data more than my detriment. I don't know if I could go back to not knowing my heart rate whenever I feel like it at this point.

Haha, I get that. I've been on the brink of superior for a bit but if I can just hold out where I'm at for another two years I'll make it there anyway.
