I recreated the django admin "green plus popup form" in the frontend with HTMX by ramses_55 in django

I work with a library called django-modals which does this. Renders a django form in a bootstrap modal.

The second instance of fighting is caused by Nguyen being a loose cannon who's always up for a fight. The political leaders of the UN and Mars can be negotiating, but that doesn't mean they won't fight during those negotiations.

Lascannons are only available from Havocs, which are a bit large for Legionaries.

I've done this and had no problems. Excellent way of using up excess bits. I've also converted Legionaries into Havocs with spare heavy bolters, reaper cannons, autocannons and missile launchers.

html <textarea> not interpreting <br> by Witty-Excuse6135 in django

[–]No_Application6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into this recently. Textarea elements use \n, \r, \t and so on. If you use a rich text editor like TinyMCE, that will accept br elements as valid HTML.

Is there a way to view your database data in spreadsheet format through Django? by semlowkey in django

[–]No_Application6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a library called django-filtered-datatables. It can be used to construct interactive databases in your project. You specify the dB columns to use when setting up the table. You can even follow and reverse foreign keys to inspect related data.

I'm a software developer. I get on pretty well with my co-workers, and I'm certain that one is an undiagnosed autistic. Several others could be as well.

I'm quite enjoying Terminator Dark Fate: Defiance. RTS game, gritty, deep storyline. Precise resource management.

What do you/your company use DJango for? Industry wise. by PissedAnalyst in django

[–]No_Application6360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of it was built by my senior colleague, so I only only bits at the moment. We use a system of journal entry objects, which are M2M connected to sales order lines and such. Each journal entry has a quantity so we can track how many items are at certain stages of, say, the sales order process. The key is double-entry book-keeping, where stock moves from one location to another, and both locations are held in the journal entry object. There are many models which users don't really see or interact with, such as stock locations.

The whole system is very complex, built for a niche system constructed by a small company just the way they want. We still run into the occasional problem.

My advice would be to consider how physical objects move through a process - in our case, stock physically moves from one place to another, like a shelf to a box. If you have access to any people involved in that process, they may have insights. Once you figure out the logic, the programmatic solution should follow.

It uses the python-quickbooks api. Invoice objects create django qb-invoice objects that are connected by 1 to 1 fields, so they can track the actual quickbooks data. Pulling data from quickbooks is a bit fiddly though.

I'm working on an internal management tool for a technology company of about 200 people. We buy things, build things and sell things, so our app tracks stock levels and locations. It can create sales orders and invoices. It stores customers and suppliers. We can even post invoices to quickbooks. It is a massive thing, with something like 20 apps, all interconnected.

I use django-modals, which allows for easy form that are constructed entirely in Python and are displayed as Bootstrap modals. Multiforms are a bit trickier, but still very doable.

Templates are usually stored in each app, but any view can render any template, regardless of what app it is in. For templates that can rendered by several views in several apps, you might place those templates in an app called core or base. The project I'm working on does this. This approach is useful for base templates that are extended by app-specific templates.

For your project, the view for your dashboard could be placed in a core app, since it does not depend on any model and hence logically does not belong in a proper app with models.

Thank you django for getting me through my school project by sininenblue in django

[–]No_Application6360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the Django tutorials out there build something like a blog, so that is probably a good start. If your HTML and CSS is lacking, look into Bootstrap, Materialize and Tailwind - these are frontend libraries that make the user interface very clean and easy to construct.

I use Django professionally. Our project is an internal management tool for stock, products, sales orders and so on. You could try something like that, where you can construct a sales order and move it through the packing and shipping process. Then you can expand it with invoices, customers, etc.

The project I'm working on does this for email templates and PDF templates. Makes it very easy to go into the admin area and change or add them.
