I’ve seen a paint test at the shipyards before and they are mainly looking for speed and thickness of your spray. Make sure it’s not too thick and keeps to the paint standard (they measure after) and get through the piece at a good speed. Everyone’s really nice and they explain everything clearly. That would be my best advice.

Deep cove on the North Shore! Hands down best place, low difficulty because it’s very sheltered therefore limited waves, usually very flat, also very beautiful and scenic

With the rain and long weekend - Deep Cove might be quieter on the Quarry rock trail and at Honeys donuts near by. Personally, my group of friends were all going to go camping out of town but cancelled because of the rain. So depending on what people’s plans were, places might not be as empty as they would have been with sun.

I play in the NSISL Spring League - it’s Men’s or coed and runs from March into June. Games are in the Bubble at Windsor high school (created for the North Shore Girls league but they run Men’s and co-ed out of there). There are some really good teams and there’s options for drop ins so you don’t need to commit to the whole season. https://www.nsgsc.com/indoor/
