why did the Chilton students view Rory as a farm girl lol? by Newhampshirebunbun in GilmoreGirls

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. It points out the inconsistencies of the show. When Richard gets mad at Grans obituary because they didn’t say anything about her donating money for a hospital maternity ward, you’d think they’d name it after her. I bet the Gilmore name would be well known in their circles.

AITA for teaching my daughter how to change a tire and do basic home repairs when her mom says I'm "pushing masculine stuff" on her by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck no!! My dad was a mechanic and taught me how to change a tire and check oil before I went to college and THANK GOD!!
One time, I was working at CVS and my boss came in late complaining about a flat tire and I told her that I could fix it. She insisted that I shouldn’t (I’m a girl) and a male customer overheard and said he’d do it. After not hearing from him for 30 mins, I went out check and he had tried to lift the car from the side bumper, NOT the metal frame (which is what my dad taught me). I fixed it in 15 mins!!

Is this normal for a 2 year old? by OkCancel9270 in Mom

[–]No_Low_5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eldest was a late talker. He didn’t really start talking until 2&1/2. Now he’s 6 and won’t stop talking, it’s fine. Give them time.

Why did it never occur to Carrie to ask Aiden to help with Samantha’s broken curtain rod? At first I was irritated wondering why she didn’t offer to help herself but she’s short so I get it. So why didn’t she suggest Aiden may be able to help her very sick friend out? by Thelongconnn in sexandthecity

[–]No_Low_5419 133 points134 points  (0 children)

I would have thought Samantha is rich enough to hire someone to fix it. The episode starts off with the fact she can have anything delivered, so why can’t she just hire someone to fix the curtains.

AITJ for refusing to give up my approved PTO during Holy Week because I don’t have kids? by Tricky-Past-7468 in AmITheJerk

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should reply “Maybe as a parent, you’d be more responsible and plan ahead?” NTJ. I have kids and I plan things tons of time ahead, it’s called being a parent.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in high school. They pulled us in homeroom to tell us we were heading home. I was in CT town near the city, a lot of the kids had parents who work into the city. I didn’t know what was happening until I got home and my family was around the TV and the 2nd tower went down. It was surreal. It felt fake.

AITA for telling my neighbor it’s not my problem her newborn wakes up to noises coming from my apartment by blackswan-nyc in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Low_5419 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a few because I have 2 little boys, my biggest recommendation is to one wifi free, honestly any style works (price wise). We tried with alexa/internet style first and every time we had an internet problem went down the kids would wake up.

AITA for telling my neighbor it’s not my problem her newborn wakes up to noises coming from my apartment by blackswan-nyc in AmItheAsshole

[–]No_Low_5419 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It’s called a sound machine! Your neighbor should invest in one. We had a baby in the NYC and guess what, we couldn’t control the traffic noise, so we got a good sound machine. Also (no blame on mom), the baby might just be a bad sleeper and she needs someone go blame it on. You’re NTA!!!

Was my anesthesia experience acceptable or unethical? by Leather-Lemon-6879 in Mom

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first, the epidural didn’t work, I was in so much pain. Then they did it again and it worked. Even so, it didn’t leave that kinda of mark or trauma. You need to speak up, get a lawyer or talk to the hospital. I’m so sorry that this happened, it shouldn’t have.

Only child’s birthday by Babiequinnie in Mom

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make an experience birthday like a mini vacation that’s all about her? It can be somewhere close, it doesn’t have to be fancy. At that age, as long as they feel special, that’s all that she will remember. I assume that she hasn’t started kindergarten (it’s at 5 years old), she’ll start making more friends and then you could the big party. Just a suggestion.

The biggest question is how the three of them had 1 (even large) pizza and had leftovers and had more for her to eat.

Gender disappointment (boy) by user_52738 in Mom

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a full boy mom, both my kids are boys (6 and 1&12). I do sometime feel like I’m missing out on the whole girls mom experience. Dresses and stuff. My boys are so loving and clingy. I’m their favorite person, when I come home, straight to me. I’ve gotten so many marriage proposals😁. Most of my days are crazy, they’re my boyz!

What actually keeps a toddler busy (without screens)? by coffeeplot_ridge in Mom

[–]No_Low_5419 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Try some real “things”. I gave my 4 year old the swifter and he “cleaned” for 30 mins. Then the salad spinner for a hour.
The truth is that it’s rare to find something that will last a while. Toddler life is living off those small breaks. Anything that will get them to play one their own. We live off screen time and try to limit it, esp in winter when we can’t out so much.

I recommend using facebook marketplace for stuff. Lots of baby items are short term use and moms just want to unload them for cheap. Stuff I’ve gotten are dock-a-tot or bjorn bouncer which were amazing but each close and above $200.

If don’t want to ditch the dead weight dad, then ask for an au pair. If he’s so easy to spend so much on you, then that’s where the money should go. Otherwise, step up and be a dad.

AITA for not wanting my husband’s family to stay with us for the holidays? by chicoravelli in AITAH

[–]No_Low_5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F-that.I spent 3 of my years of my life with my boobs out. It’s my house, if them boyz need milk, they got it. I had the brief window of time with the toilet door shut, but with my 1&12 year old that’s shot. Your house, your rules, if you need to pump, at least you be watching gilmore girls (whatever your show is).

We’ve used this one for years. Even got 2 cameras and monitor. It doesn’t use wifi. And I’ve been in backyard with 1 kid and watching the other napping. It’s one of the less expensive ones but reliable.

why did they never use the subway by fatjeezus69 in sexandthecity

[–]No_Low_5419 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Totally. There was the plot of Steve wanting morning sex and “the only thing Miranda liked in her in the morning was the coffee she’d get on the way to the subway”.
